OK- lots of talking smack here. I have been out with pneumonia and am finally released to play. I might have two cracked ribs but I am ready. I put the 950 back together and she is really ready to have some fun.

so we meander out Detour Road, hit a few side roads and try to get to Paw Paw the back way...

somehow we ended up on an old rail bed. I was running in the back sightseeing and didn't see where we went wrong

    it got worse until...

of course bonehead starts looking for a way around the barrier. Lucky for me there wasn't one. :lol3

We find out way back out to the road and head into Paw Paw for a snack and DAMNed if bonehead didn't find something!

The rail bed was closed at Paw Paw and we weren't sure exactly where the tag was at. So we went back around the other way and came in off of Detour Rd. We stopped at each likely looking spot.

    This it? No.

    How about this? No.

It was getting late and the sun was dropping faster than bonehead's 950... I was getting worried and wasn't looking forward to riding in the dark with all the hunters out.

    finally we got to

    :rofl

Nice grab guys! Took the scenic route I see.
Did you get onto B Evans Ln. maybe. That by sects the old C&O rail line with a bridge on either side of the peninsula formed by the river. One of those bridges is the one you can see from Rt. 51 at the C&O Canal tunnel parking lot...or did you go up Magnolia to the tracks, and get on the wrong rail bed.? Magnolia is were the Panhandle tag was set. The bridge in that picture is the existing line. There is another bridge just downstream that is abandoned. There are two abandoned rail beds in the area. The one I set the tag on, which follows the river, and the one I mentioned. They parallel each other for a couple miles but the "other" one has the blocked off bridges.

    Either way...
