    Hello!

I really don't know the procedure on how to make those protectors, so be patient with my stupid questions.

I was wondering if there is a possibility to make whole black protectors? You know, carbon has those black and silver squares in texture. Are there only black squares?

And I was also wondering if is it possible to paint them mat black? Instead of transparent varnish?

    Thanx, BR, Matt

    Hi Matt,

    The 'standard' guards/protectors we make have a carbon outer layer, I think this is what you're asking about. This is them;

Yes, it's possible to paint them black (or any colour you like). The standard ones are painted with an automotive clear coat, we could swap this for paint if you order a set.

    Cheers,
    Michael

$35 doesn't seem terrible for shipping something halfway around the Earth. I don't think he's charging extra for the orange but I could be wrong.

Try living in Canada where there's free shipping on most thing within the US, but a soon as it crosses up to us it suddenly costs $40 shipping plus brokerage.

On a sidenote, imagine how much more a new tank would cost compared to these swank guards....

    Hi,

The orange ones are the same price as the plain carbon for now, 150 AUD plus 35.90 shipping to the US. I've only got enough orange left for 2 more sets, after that they will be a special order.

    Cheers,
    Michael

Anyone in the USA interested in doing a 'group ship' I have a new to me 640A and a spare tank also so I am batting around the idea of two sets but I just was wondering if there is anyone else that might be interested.

I don't think $35 is out of line either but maybe we could save a little.

    Cheers, Chris

Hey, I want a set of those. I'll send you a PM.

I have a 2003 KTM 640 Adventure and I want to ride it off road. I don't think my stock tank can take too many more tip overs. Your Guards should do the trick.

    Hi all,

I'm pleased to announce that Rally Raid Engineering are now making Carbon/Kevlar Frame Guards for the KTM 640.

The price is 75 AUD per set.

If you order a set of Tank Guards there will be no additional postage for the Frame Guards.

    If you want them by themselves the postage will be (in AUD);

    US (mainland) & Canada $20.70
Most of Europe & UK $24.70
    Australia $7.95

The plugs for the LC4 Engine Case (clutch/alternator) are almost done, just a bit more sanding and filling before the moulds are ready to be made. The final Guards will most likely have a little less coverage (they cover the sight glass right now) but it's easier to remove material later than add it!

Is the fuel petcock protection still going to happen as an option?

    Hi all,

Unfortunately due to material price increases (mainly due to the weak AUD) I've had to put the price of the Guards up by 10 AUD to 160 AUD per set.

Luckily since the AUD is down against most other currencies the end price to most of you will be the same. If you've already contacted me but I haven't gotten around to your order yet then the original price remains.

    Cheers,
    Michael

    Hi All,

I've finally finished the petcock protection, they are separate piece that is glued to the bottom of the tank guard. You can see in the bottom picture that it is still possible to switch to reserve etc with the guard in place.

If you order the Petcock Guard with the Tank Guards I will stick it on there for you. If you've already got a set of Tank Guards it can be purchased separately and you can attach it with the same glue you attached the guards to the tank with.

The price is 22 AUD. Shipping is included with the Tank Guards, if you order it separately shipping will be the same as the Frame Guards, see the first post of this thread.

    Cheers,
    Michael
