Going to be a great stage, the last day is usually uneventful, but not with Chaleco; what with his bike collapse in 2011 he is now going to go balls out for a stage win at home and to take the 9 and a half minutes off Faria, who is running with the same engine, so will be careful as there is still a longish riding day ahead with the 121 km special and a long liaison/transfer, and a ceremonial "sprint" finish - something they won't even consider missing in their worst nightmares :evil

Will it hold, will CDP's, will Jakes's, who will also be trying to podium? :clap:clap

Will Faria and Jakes now change also?

One thing for sure, 4 into 3 doesn't fit :evil:lol3:clap

All except maybe CDP. Probably off to some Extreme Enduro or another. He was pedaling his exercise bike on France 4 while they interviewed him, and that was after a long tough stage. Say whatever you want about CDP but the guy is one extreme and super skilled athlete.

According to himself that regimen is something he and his physiotherapist came up with in order to preserve his leg muscles. He admitted that it probably looked a bit weird, but it's the best way for the leg muscles to wind down so that they can perform on a top level the next day again.

A few days back he was interviewed and mentioned that his trainers wanted him to do a warm-down once he got off the stage.

I'm not sure how much value that has after a 200km liason, but there it is...

    edit: Doh! 20f5'd

Yes, these top guys are athletes, there is no question of that. :thumb

Not " sportsmen" like the snooker and darts :lol3 but true athletes :clap

Fully programmed fitness training regimes - it might only ultimately prove a couple of minutes, but it's now coming to that!

CDP and a few others have cycling related activities as serious hobbies and would be competing on bikes or in triathlons if they weren't fortunate enough to be where they are :clap:clap

International rugby has had the spinning bikes on the touch line for a few years now - keep loose, warm up cool down etc.

They will be on ice baths after the stage next :lol3:lol3
