I sent my forks to house of horse power. They have been making springs custom for this mod.

They quoted me 450 to do the job, plus shipping. surely they are not the only ones doing this. I want to do it myself and just buy the springs if that is possible? what have other people done for this part?

He will sell you the springs. He has the valving down for this mod and most people are happy with it. I tired another shop in town on my first round and was not happy with it. Wish I just went with HH the first time around.

Any of you KYB swappers have a lower Dakar w/ABS front brakeline laying around? Trying to avoid ordering a new one for a swap to my old forks on my GF's bike. Mine was w/o ABS.

Mods, forgive if not in swap meet. Captive audience.

    Hi all,
does anyone know the best place to get the pinch bolt / axel nut torques?
or, even better, does anyone have a list of all the toques?

Found the YZ Yoke bolt torque figures but not axle pinch bolts

    Yoke bolts, Upper - 18 ft-lbs, Lower - 15 ft-lbs

    7. Tighten:
     Bolt (axle holder) R. .

    NOTE:
Before tightening the bolt, fit the wheel axle to
the axle holder by stroking the front fork

from Yamaha manual, hasn't cut and pasted too well, because its a picture in the manual. But hopefully gives you want you need

So I asked a little while ago if anyone knew anything about doing a fork conversion for a drz400sm forks. Someone told me they were the same as the yz forks.

    Anyone know anything.

I thougnt it would be nice for me. I also have a Drz if the front ends were the same I could just swap wheels around for whatever tire I wanted at the time. Agressive knobbie, supermoto, etc.

There are threads about fitting DRZ forks to other machines, there may be one at f650.com as well, suggest you do a little searching

Try to find out the steering head bearing size, if the outer diamiter is the same as the BMW / YZ then you may be in luck. Also try asking anyone (on forums etc) who know more about the drz and YZ, if they are the same I'm sure someone would know.

Just got back from western TAT about a week ago and the fork seal on the right leg is leaking oil. I got the 46 mm Yamaha forks.Don't know what Richard used so I don't know what to put in. 5w should be fine?

Also make sure and get Yamaha or SKF seals. Don't use any of those seal kits. They are shit.

    Hi all,
I just got my new shock ready to install and the hose connections for the remote reservoir were in position so that I couldn't install it without the hose being to close to the chain. I read on a less reliable forum that, if you were careful, you could loosen the fittings and move them to a better position.
I tried this and received a small spray of oil from the fitting.
I assume I have released the nitrogen pressure from the reservoir and will need it refilled?

Also what are the Chances, if any, that I have damaged the shock?

I don't think you would have damaged I doing that but it sounds like you may want to get it recharged with nitrogen.

I am posting this hoping no one jumps on it before me. I was hoping someone would take a look at this. Looks like everything I need. I even think I see the caliper co version bracket. What about the damage to the bottom of the forks?

    What do you guys think?
