I think my use of the phrase "light bar" confused things. I prefer the lights in this thread. and I don't want or need them on my handlebars or guards. Is a 1.5" bar too big or not big enough? FYI... I'm going to wire them into my low beam circuit with an additional switch. Thanks again.

    Sorry I misunderstood you.
The kit includes 2 heavy duty O rings one for 7/8 to 1 1/4" bar and the larger one for bigger sizes. The 1.5" bar wont be a problem.

    Got mine...!
    WOW...this thing is BRIGHT!

... being it'll be a backup to anything I use already, and solely a "work" light on my helmet when on long destination rides.... it's PERFECT.

In fact, if I was a MtnBike rider... this thing would rock the night, and be perfect for those evening rides!!

Thanks Darryl, PM coming your way in response to your phone call. Great follow up on your part, nice to have great customer relations!! :freaky

Got this kit. Haven't used it yet but it looks promising.

Question; is it okay to charge the battery from the DC provided by the bike.

Im sure you will find it usefully.. Unfortunately you can not charge the Li-ion battery from the bikes DC power. It would take an inverter to do so.

Thanks to all that have got in on The ADV light deal..
We are going to kill the link in this thread that prices this light at 124.95.. But never fear they will still be available and as always we do offer ADV discounts.
We will pull the link mid next week.
    Thanks Again!!!

We have received numerous reports on the many uses of this light.
Here are a few photos showing it used as a camp light.. mounted and used on the bike for the trip and then removed for camp use. The Ultimate ADV light..

    Good idea... an LED lantern!!

I'll be using mine for a 700 mile off-road adventure this coming October!!
... can't wait to see how well it works as a secondary light, or work light when holding a flashlight isn't an option!

If you unaware of the adventure, check it here; http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=719233

That ride sounds like a blast as well as a great cause.. I wish I could attend, donation heading your way..
I'm sure you will find the light useful, In the photos above it is strapped to a tree branch with the Oring that holds it on the bike, another use we have found is to use the helmet mount as a light stand on a table, rock etc..

My 1978 Honda XL250s has a 6v system. Needless to say, the headlight does not provide much light. The Cyclops is my solution for more light in a compact removable system. I used a small piece of pvc jb-welded to a GoPro mount so I could take it on and of easily.

Thanks for the post.. Looks like a great use for the ADV light.. Mounting to a blinker post is also a great place..

Unfortunately, the blinker posts on the XL250s are not suited for this application.

So will the new 2012 updated light still run off the bike power?

    Yes.12VDC
It will require the female cord from our helmet mounted lights(14.95)
    http://www.cyclopsadventuresports.com/?page=products&id=19

or you can cut the provided extension cord.
Its also posible to make your own by using a dc connector

    Thanks.

ps--btw, your website still needs some help. Almost didn't order the light because of the way it handles text input and item selection (grays outthe screen)...

Light arrived fast and looks great. Gotta say, got back from lunch today and had a message on my phone--

"Steve, thisis Darrel, how do you like the light? Call me toll free with any questions, etc...."

I can truly say that I've never gotten a followup call from an internet purchase....well, except for CJ, but that's a whole different kettle o fish...

    Great service.

    Steve

PS-Hey Darrel, it warns about stationary use and overheating.....how bout using it in the cold and wind for a snowblowing light? Think it'll get enough cooling at 20-30 deg and windy, but without much forward motion? I'm tired of about getting run over...
