I was up there on Saturday and it is blocked

tried going across at Root Hogg but it was up over my waist and flowing pretty well

Council were meant to be up there this week and to fix it but with the amount of rain we have had I don't think they will be rushing

That is a big rock indeed, and from the colour whirls and my infinitely small knowledge of geology it looks like it's made of slate.

So if anyone needs to redo the floor in their house and has a trailer able to carry 6 or 7 tonnes, i think we've found a solution to your problems.

I'm kicking myself for not getting a photo of the rock blocking a Norwegian road, big as a two story house.

We stopped for an ale at Hill End last Friday arvo on the way to Mudgee and spoke to a couple of locals about when it might get sorted. They said, and I quote:
'I wouldn be holdin me breath, mate'

So I started breathing again and finished my beer..

According to the chap in the cafe at Hill End people having been sneakling around the rock. I went down the hill (from Hill End - is that the hills end? ) and found the river looked not quite crossable - making the size of the rock a bit moot from my pov. Might get through in a couple of days.

Rock not gone, road is still officially closed but is traversable by bike.

Single wheel track to get past rock, not dangerous/difficult (in my opinion).

Concrete bottomed causeway is flowing at 400mm after no rain in previous 24hr period, suffice to say, I didn't attempt on bike by myself.

Watched a local ford river in 4wd ute, he said the highest he would attempt it is at 600mm :huh.

Saw the "high tide" debris and it was scary to say the least.

I would allow for at least 48hrs rain free before attempting to cross.

    Cheers.
