I don't know about tomorrow. Had a little "hapinstance" on the pony today over at Cedarville Forest and well, we "came from together".

Cedarville is a fun place to ride, but a bit swampy. So they build a bunch of those foot bridges. They are about 3 feet wide and no rails. Most are only less a foot off the ground, some are a few feet. Since they got rid of the old pressure treating formula on the wood cross boards, most of the new pressure treating grows this slick mold.

Well, we rode down to an area where a beaver has been practicing his art of dam building. He has effectively flooded a nice 2 acre area. There is one of those foot bridges, but the water level is up a bit more than it was last week. As the horse gets about 10 feet onto the bridge, he sees the water is moving (he's making a wake). Well, he decides to back up...only he doesn't do it straight.

So, one hind foot lands off bridge about 1.5 feet down into the water. Then all chaos breaks free. Next thing, two front feet on the left side of the bridge, and two back feet on the right side of the bridge (with the bridge holding the belly). Then we get all feet over to the same side of the bridge. Phew, it's over.... Now we can just walk out of the pond. Nope, he wants to leap back up onto the bridge and hooks his front feet.

Uggh, amazing evolution hasn't fixed such a dumb animal.

Besides my bruised pride and having to hand walk the pony back to base camp, nothing that can't be healed. Blaster insisted that I can' "go gimpy" on him until he's back on his feet.
