    "ICE"= Insanely Cold Event!!!

This is going to be the 2nd to the last weekend in Febuary.. Ive been googling and searching for cabins/hotels in the center most section on the state for this..

I figure, this will be needed for most for sanitiy issues over the winter time... Fire up your heated clothes or just pile on all your fleece.!! Riders only please..

The main goal will be to have fun with your fellow inmates... If we only ride for a hour, so be it! This will give us somthing to long for over the cold January..

Suggestions are highly recomended for a cool spot to host this, but remember, my goal is to keep it in the middle of the state...

    This has potential.

The State College area looks to be central. Any ideas from the local inmates?

A ski lodge might be an interesting place for a group of bikes to roll into. Or any hotel with a bar and restaurant.

There is a ski area just outside State College. Tussey Mountain is just off Rt 322. However, the web site says they have no lodging on site.

There are lots of hotels in the State College area, not to mention plenty of watering holes with college girls.

The riding around State College is pretty good. Depending on the weather and road conditions, I could lead a ride back through Rothrock SF on lots of interesting fire roads.

Could be interesting. That will be the weekend of my 30th birthday, so I don't know what I'll be doing. I could always ride up and make all you fucks buy me a beer :deal

I'm not a big fan of riding my overweight pig in the snow, but cold weather certainly wouldn't keep me away. Commuted 56 miles one morning last winter at 7 degrees. Got some pretty weird looks on the highway that morning. I'll bet I was warmer than most of the people in their cars.......ahhh Gerbings

There's enough of us on here now thanks to the Tag-O-Rama game that we can come up with something for you.

What is more important - camping somewhere cool with cabins, or being in downtown with the people?

If you want to be out there, Black Moshannon has a bunch of cabins up there. Problem is you're screwed if you run out of beer.

so the lesson is "use the tankbag for clothes, use the saddlebags, top cases, and panniers for beer."

i know i can get around 4.5 cases of cans on the duc without an issue, i havne't tested the beer ferrying limits of the XR yet though. the forecast will determine which bike is ridden.

btw - yes, i know i'm being difficult, do you mean 2/28 or 2/21?

Consider staying downtown so all of your pursuits of fun are just a stroll away.

There are lots of places to stay and plenty of places to partake of the festivities.

Don't forget the Endzone Club where the poor college girls supplement their tuition! :clap

I live near the Pittsburgh airport so weather would be a big factor in my abilty to make this event. I'm not sure my nurves could handle that ride on snow and ice covered roads. It's hard to make time when you have to keep stopping to pull the seat vynal out of your ass.
Anyone know if PennDot does a good job of keeping the turnpike clear of ice?
Any other Burgh people thinking about this?

I drive it between exit 28 and 48 everyday. I find that they wait until after rush hour in the morning to do anything, and if it's snowing in the afternoon, they do absolutely nothing.

I'm thinking about it but can't commit until it gets a little closer.
