Triumph Tiger 800

Triumph signalize for this year two new models, one of them is possibly a small Tiger ..... and may be a Tiger 1200 with shaft drive.

No one here has heard anything about this or even speculated enough to start the beginnings of speculative discussions about said bikes coming into existence anywhere at any time... :huh

Yup.
They say that there will be two models later this year that are to be categorized are 'Urban Adventure' bikes based on the triple engine. People are speculating that it's an up-rated 675 cm3 engine! Rumors say it will be 'around' the 800 cm3 mark. But no official figures as such yet! Information regarding the engine will be given in the first week of August.

One version will be a pure adventure off-road (spoked wheels and a claimed 21" front wheel), and a second version for townies and wanabee adventurers (mag wheels and a claimed 19" front wheel).

Rumor also has it that Triumph will be bringing a third adventure model categorized under 'Big Adventure' bike - and is aimed around 2012, at the BMW 1200GS / Multistrada. This 'Big Adventure' is rumored to have a 1200'ish triple engine.

But - officially - all that's been communicated is within that link you gave!

they're being sarcastic...must be 5 or 6 threads on this subject with links to vids etc. just do a search (or read the most active threads in this section).

Even if they started making them again I'd never own a Triumph - they leak oil like mad, vibrate, and the electrics suck.

You are wrong. I had a '04 Thunderbird Sport. It didn't leak oil or vibrate and was a thoroughly enjoyable bike. The only reason I sold it was it wasn't suited to the type of riding I wanted to do at the time. I would recommend a Triumph to anybody.

You've got your brands mixed up and it's not Friday yet.

Kidding guys -- I have a 06 Scrambler and love it!!! I've owned over 40 bikes over the years, and the Scrammy is my favorite ever - no leaks, no drips, no hassles, and is a good looking ride!

Triumph is to be lauded for its quality control and well engineered machines. Sorry if I got you riled at all.

They still make Triumphs? I thought they went out of business in the 70's.

As a fellow Scrambler owner, I was up with Mista Vern straight away.

My dilemma now is that if this bike turns out to be the goods, do I make room in the shed or part with my Scrambler or my Sprint?

Bad news .... The workers at Triumph Meriden have just gone on strike ! BTW i saw a great new TV show last night it is called Kojak , i think this show will run and run .
