Edit: currently accepting volunteers via PM! As of right now, the for certain items are this: 1) 2012 (don't) Fall Rally will be held October 19-21, 2012. 2) The Rally will be held at Rigby Farms, same as last year. More to come... OFFICIAL RALLY THREAD CAN BE FOUND HERE!
I'm in! Let me do a little checking, I may be able to borrow a large smoker for the Saturday night meal.
Ima hoping the CRF230 will make it with the KLR. That thing will be a blast on Bob's enduro trails!!!
My KTM is defiantly coming this year as well. humm I still haven't got new tires on my trailer. i better get that done. I don't want a repeat of last year.:huh tire that got us there tire that got us home And the Old XL needs a new rear tire as well..
If I can get my dirt bike running decently, I plan on just riding the trails and staying near camp... hopefully helping with the cooking.
If no one steps up to help with kitchen duties, that was my plan too. Chili Friday night and Burgers & hotdogs Saturday... But maybe someone will step up!!!
What are the routes like there? I plan to come and a friend wants to as well but his bike isn't road legal, but if there is mainly dirt roads then he can bring his big grill/smoker with us. (I really hope to bring him to save myself from buying a tent since his trailer holds our bikes and a couch). Btw, his grill is a trailered grilled as well so it's plenty big.
That's what I did last year. The veggie man helping with a pig cookin. Something ain't right about that.
Mr. Rigby told me yesterday that the trails are in much better shpe than they were last year. I guess they have seen some travel since the rally.
There are no official routes or rides. People may go on rides and allow you to follow them. If Mr. Rigby has them available, he setup a grass track in a pasture and had enduro single track trails setup on his land last year. You can check the thread for pictures of the trails and grass track he setup on his land for last years rally. But that is all dependent on Mr. Rigby and how the work day / prep day goes.... As Trophy reported, trails are in better shape than last year.
I personally would advise against a dirtbike on one of the rides. A lot of the rodes would be fine but the range of his gas and going into the towns or bigger roads wouldn't be that good for him. But it would be a great weekend of bs bikes single track, and camping even with out the road rides.
What are the fees/cost looking like? I want to come but it all depends on if my partner in crime and I can work out the details so we both have off. Sucks working weekends!
The cost and other details are still a ways off. I just posted this thread looking for help this morning. It will be a while before we get all the final details set. Last year the cost for a t-shirt, sticker, campsite, 2 meals, etc was around $40 - $50 (can't remember exactly off the top of my head) and we are aiming to keep it as affordable as possible. Just don't have enough details worked out for our costs yet to set a price and start registration... Hope you can make it!
Okay that is not bad. If I can make it I will be sure to let you know and see if help is still needed.
Can't promise anything yet, but I'm a definite maybe! I'll know more in a couple weeks. Anyone have a decent 17 or 18" rear knobby laying around collecting dusty spiders?
