I was just wondering if there where any mechanical changes that would affect if I installed the map of an R on my 2007 990. Want the extra HP but also that the beast lives too.
We are planning on doing it on a 2007, we have a friend who has professional skills on ECU so he is testing to see if it will work. What would be your recommendation?
I would try it, but the ECU may not let you. If you can load it, be sure to check AFR's. What tool is your friend using to load the maps?
Can´t reach him to know the software. The ECU would not accept the R mapping, but you can erase the mapping of the 2007 and input all the data of the R mapping and It works. It seems to make one hell of a difference, but we have not measured the HP yet.
Do a search first, another inmate tried and it didn't work because the ECU was looking for the immobilizer and since the 07 doesn't have that feature it wouldn't start.
Well she is running smootly with no problems at all, with the 990 R map data in the map of the 2007 990.
How does it compare to the original map? Is it as smooth as the "R" bikes are? Is it the OEM "R" map or the Akra "R" map?
