Hi All, trying to help out an Alaskan inmate travelling in NZ, just got a message from him saying the fuel pump on his 02 R1150R sounds bad, BMW have no stock in NZ. Are there any other options for fixing this? Can the pump unit or core be replaced with something more common? Are they rebuildable in any way? Any info or pointers on where to find it would be welcome. Cheers Clint
there are some other options, try searching in the oilheads forum. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=595733
I well could be a partly plugged filter. If not, then there are alternative pumps people have used. Jim
I copied these off the r1150r.org website. Might not be useful in NZ, but it is a start. Re: OEM fuel pump alternative There are many options, here are just a few. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/AEI-11109/ http://www.modyourcar.com.au/bosch-910- ... pump-p3057 http://www.sx-performance.com/Fuel_Pumps.htm
Great Stuff! Thanks for the speedy responses, now I have the info that it's a replaceable pump (not one of those combination pump/reg/pickup sender non serviceable things) & needs 45psi & 100lph we should be able to make something work even if we can't find that Bosch unit. Cheers Clint
