Here is a pic of my bike loaded up, which includes 1 ruck sack, filled with my tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, and various camping supplies. I also bring a back pack, to run into town on the way up to the mtn, to get food and beer before I get to the camp site. This setup is tied down with 2 bungee nets, and 2 Ancra M/C tiedowns, and is good for high speed off road g outs, rocks, and whatever the trail throws at me on the way to my camp site! That stuff never shifts at all cinched down. Sorry, I didn't get a pic of the camp site, but may tomorrow.

Well, most of my camp gear fits into the bags. The only thing strapped across the back is the tent and chair. A pic of my Trophy/campsite can be seen at http://reekyrider.com/4ImagesGallery/details.php?image_id=55 .

The same gear fits entirely in the 1150GS' Jesse bags. I usually don't take the chair along, but that trip was several days and many stops long. I'll be testing the entire GS load out starting next Thursday on my way to Moab, Utah. Four days wandering out, three days there and four back to see all the sights between Michigan and Utah. Yes, I'll be doing a ride report daily when internet access is available. Pics too. Warm you popcorn machines.

But now I am constructing ultralight weight (and compactable) hiking gear from http://www.ray-way.com/quilt/index.shtml (quilt) & http://www.ray-way.com/tarp-nettent/index.shtml (tent), this should fit in my new St1300's top box I'm thinking with my Thermarest Prolite 3 sleeping pad. (I don't carrying cooking gear while MC camping, just cold ffoods or go out to eat.)

Anyway...all of this is all fine and good, but my real trouble is packing camping gear for TWO while riding two-up. If anyone has any snazzing way of rigging that up, that'd be awesome!

My setup has changed a little, I've ditched the box, and use the dry bags from aerostich now, and have moved the bag and tent to the rack.

this was for a three-dayer. I suck at packing -- always bring too much!

i hope that you will have FREQUENT INTERNET AVAILABILITY so that we'll be able to "travel along with you."

Some extra bits stacked on here, like my rain jacket, but in the moto fizz bag I keep all of my clothes inside a mega ziplock, personal items etc. -- one outdoor reasearch waterproof compression sack has my sleeping bag, towel, odds and ends, another outdoor research bag holds my tent, sleeping mattress, ground cloth and my saddlebags hold mini cooking stove, coffee, tools in case of emergency, and rain gear, -- the tank bag has maps, sunscreen, camera, other stuff I like to have in reach.




I like this sort of thread, looked all over at these kind of pics before I took the trip these shots are from.

Since I am fairly new to the ADV bit, my deal is still getting refined. This is packed for DVDaze last year.





This is the "light" version (for when you go off a cliff and someone has to take back your side bags due to your stupidity):

This is pretty much how I roll now:





So how things are packed: The sleeping bag goes in a side bag along with the therma rest to make sure I'm dry when I sleep. The tent, ground cloth, and camp chair all are on the back seat because I don't care if they get wet, but also b/c there is no room in the bags. The top box is generally for food and liquor and extra gloves and hats for ease of access. All clothes go in the tank bag and stay clean and dry there accordingly.

It certainly isn't particularly efficient nor is it pro in any way, but I have been dry and prepared on all my trips thus far, so it works.

I've changed this a little, now have Jesse bags and have added a large tarp to my camp setup.
