This past summer was on a trip from VA to Fl one the hottest weekend of the summer. Didn't have the camelbak and was stopping every 45 min for water. On the way back got the orange HI Viz and what a difference!!
Rode through a downpour on I-95 near Brunswick GA through construction for about 10 miles. When I finally pulled off the person in the car behind me also pulled off and stopped at the same gas station. They said there were times when the only thing they could see was the Camelbak. worth every penny!

    Off the map,
Hydration pack(water)=alert riding. Cure to boredom on long stretches, and a makes a nifty back protector:thumb

Not to mention the added required stops to constantly piss. At the end of the day, it's all worth it as you feel refreshed and good. :D

    Yes.

In the hot, after you take a drink, blow back into the tube to clear it. This will prevent the water from getting hot.

I buy a 7lb bag of ice and fill it up at the gas station. If the ice is a little melted it's even better as you can top it up with water. Pull it out of the freezer and set it in the sun while you go inside to pee to make this happen.

I put the reservoir in the back pad pocket of my jacket, and when really hot pour the last of the ice in the pocket too. It keeps you cool for 3-4 hours on the hottest days.

I have a few. A small one for short trips but just got done with a 3 week trip and used the Ergon. Gives you the best body movement of any pack I've used. You don't even know it's there.
