A big ask: anyone feel the urge to give a brief race summary after each round of the championship?
Or to provide a link to someone that does?
Will mean a lot to those that don't have the subscription to watch it live...

    Wow. Just... Wow.

Halfway through the race, I was thinking that this season's big rivalry might be Crutchlow vs. Marquez - two aggressive riders both fighting for podiums, if not wins. I did not expect it to turn into New Kid vs. Old Hand like that. :clap Fantastic stuff, I can't wait for Austin!

Any race with Dani off the podium is fine with me!:1drink

Marquez' re-pass on Rossi had me jumping off the recliner.:clap
Didn't last but proved he is a brave young lad.

I told the GF "this would be a great race if it weren't for 9 fingers being out of sight up front".

    See you all in Austin.:freaky

Rossi - Unless I missed something, he was turning the fastest laps of anyone on the track during the last 10 laps or so. The old dog still has some fight in him!

Marquez - This young man has a future in MotoGP, and I think it might be a future as a champion.

Lorenzo - He checked out and rode his usual perfect, consistent race, with not mistakes. But, I bet he looks at the lap time data and sees Rossi as a serious contender for the title.

Come on Austin, we are headed there on Friday the 19th!

One thing about motogp, no team orders on the first race of the season!

I'm not sure if this 5 minute highlights video will stream in Germany but there is also a short race report.

HOnestly, if Jorge is in the lead with points later in the season and Rossi could win the championship by finishing ahead of Jorge, do you think Rossi is going to listen to team orders? I bet there are no team orders other than, don't take each other out, ride safe, win!

Tell you what... i'm not gonna bash your side show Dani for two rounds now since he was fourth... dammit.

But he better start beating that teenage ROOKIE team mate of his, if he wants to... ahh fuck it... he ain't gonna ever get that title.

Big slap in the face to Ducati. So psyched he's back on a winning machine. That was an unreal race. Had me out of my seat. :freaky

All he did today is match his best result on the Duc (Misano 2012). He was closer to Lorenzo (Misano race winner) on the Duc.

So, yeah, he is back.

    Cracking opening race,

But the thing that got me was from turn one Lorenzo never looked like
he was breaking a sweat, while the rest of the aliens battled it out for
    the other positions.

I hope I'm wrong but Lorenzo troubled by Rossi's lap times? Not when
    Rossi is behind him....

One race down, many to come, woo hooo motoGP is back.
    cheers

That was a crushing race by Lorenzo. Sure, Rossi came on strong later on, but by that time Lorenzo, I'm certain, was able to ride with something in reserve. Once again, you just can't make any mistakes and win.

Exciting race and great to see Rossi back in the mix! Lorenzo had the field covered and even if Rossi had not lost places I doubt he could have caught Lorenzo. Pedrosa must be feeling miserable. Beaten by his rookie teammate in 1st race, beaten by Rossi and Lorenzo, and finishing off the podium. Not a good day for the veteran in the prime of his career. I hope the races continue to be this exciting. I can't wait to see how Marquez does in Austin.
