OK, first of all, let's see em!
Second, what is the deal. I have heard this color is a special edition, or low production/import. One guy told me there were only 200 per year. Clearly it is faster than other colors.
Was it only for the 1150? What is the real scoop and how come you don't see em too much?

I don't know the actual numbers, but they only made them one or two years, 2004 for sure. I'm sure more than 200 were made, but they are fairly rare. They are also the best looking GS ever!:deal:clap

I always wanted one of those - yet never quite connected with one.

If I had access to measurements / layout specs for the design, I'd consider doing a custom paint job on my 2010 red GS

    anyone …..? :ear

It would be a bit more difficult with less real estate on a 1200. My suggestion would be to take a picture and if you aren't good in photoshop, just start drawing lines on a printed photo.

I had the right side of my tank repaired after a high side in the dirt. Tank took a nice dent... :cry Unfortunately the shop didn't do the repair as well as I'd have liked, however it was a free repair. My suggestion, as a shop might not think of this... worry less about the bleed of white/blue together and apply the black pinstripe last to break the two sections apart and have them apply several clear coats over the whole thing. My shop for some reason did not apply the pinstripe last, so there are flecks of white bleeding into the black stripe. Thankfully it's not obvious unless you are up close *looking for imperfections.

My local dealer told me it cost extra because of the two color paint work.

oh and naturally...the Hall Effect Sensor failed (60k mi) at 2AM in a rain storm on 95 in the middle of an unintentional 1500mi iron butt. The only time she has been on a trailer since I owned her.

Those are great pics you guys!
I can't wait to go on a trip with mine. I am taking a little weekend trip about 400 miles away in two weeks to the Poverty Riders Coonbottom campout.
I did take it down a fire road today, I think it liked it :D
When I got home my package from rubber chicken was here, so I changed my cam chain tensioner.
I am feeling the love already!

I did the beak transplant on my R1100GS and then went shopping for a blue and white tank. So now I guess I've got what you'd call a tribute R1100GS Pacific/Alpine. That's my good friend from college with one of his twin girls, my God Daughter. Also did my own decals after running it without for awhile.
