I have time off over the holidays and looking for people to ride with. If anyone is interested in a day ride in the next few weeks let me know. I know some good routes in toward Coronado, Tombstone, or Benson, or the Douglas area.

    Sounds good claycraig.

I was about to start a thread for a holiday ride with some Sierra Vista folks I know, but I used the search and found yours, what a concept.:D

I am interested in a ride, perhaps Sat/Sun after Christmas or the following Friday/Saturday/Sunday?

There are a slew of Sierra Vista guys out there who ride. Perhaps a few will reply and we can get a ride going.

    bunch'a bums.

maybe we should try to fire up the email list again?

I would quit my job to ride, just not sure the family would like that too much, oh, and you got to buy all the food and gas. :)

Good to see there is some interest to ride in the area over the holidays. I pretty flexible for the next 2 weeks. I am going out for a ride after 11am today if anyone is interested. Otherwise, post availability and we can schedule a ride this week and/or next week.

PM me an email address and I will start a rider list for the area.

My email is swartzy(at)cox.net. I get so much spam it does not bother me to post it. :)

I am booked this week, but sat/sun this weekend is good, and the following fri/sat/sun is good too.

A Saturday ride sounds good. My route idea is below. Feel free to make changes or offer a different route all together if you like.

10 a.m. meet at Gas City by Chili's. (I will be on Suzuki DR650.)

Take Charleston Rd past the San Pedro River.
Take left on the powerline maintenance Road and ride into Tombstone.
    Take pavement thru tombstone
Follow the natural gas pipeline SE toward Davis road.
    Circle back toward Sierra Vista

We can make variations as needed.
Should be about a 3-4 hour ride depending on stops.

ANYONE ELSE WANNA JOIN LET US KNOW OR JUST SHOW UP.

Sounds good to me. Does one need a special permit, sticker, tag, stamp to ride on Power Line road? I used to ride down there but heard it was forbidden so quit.

Is a lunch stop scheduled, or should I pack a Clif Bar?

i dont think the road enters the trust land, so you should be good... you got OHV tags tho didnt you?

i may be in, to tombstone, then hotfoot it back to work on the charleston. if i could sway the group to actually meet at 930, and be stands up and rollin at 10? :) that would help my lot in life.

My DL1000 is a pavement queen... stopped riding rough stuff when I sold the KLR.

I got the OHV sticker that goes on the plate so it costs a lot less.

    I can meet earlier.

I just got a new Vstrom and would like to ride road or light gravel if possible. If we're going offroad, I'll bring the xr650l. Just let us know.

Road route might be out to Chiricahuas, over Onion Saddle and back via Rodeo, Douglas, Bisbee. The only gravel there is over the Chiricahuas. Plus there is snow up there, night be fun.

    Anyway, I'm in.

I've gotta work through this weekend(though I might be convinced to call in sick if the route is a good one), but the 3rd(Sunday) is good for me, dirt or pavement. I may hit up the supermoto track on the 2nd as there is a race and the other riders need someone to pass/lap!

Thanks for the thread reminder Brian.

I'm going to visit my parents in California for Christmas, so I can't make it this Saturday.

I am in for the 3rd though - looking forward to it.
