I took the bike down to the local Honda dealer to look at the CRV's. They have better mpg's then my S-10 PU, all wheel drive and I could sleep in the back on a road trip.

Then I saw the FIT. A new model, Small, very good MPG's, 31/37 and I could also sleep in the back on a road trip. I was impressed, but mostly with the MPG figures and the price. 16,000! for the sport model, and 14,000 for the standard model.

Does anyone have one or have you gone to look at them? What do you think and what have you heard about them?

Just read the new Car & Driver, they picked it as best in its class
after testing 7 or so others. They liked a lot of things about it.

Pick up a news stand copy or try their website or google.

They said it has been selling in Europe under the Jazz name prior.

They had a review of the Dodge Caliber in the same issue.
Cheap and sporty. From $14k (FWD) - $20k (AWD)
They make an $SRT$ version with 300HP but they are only making it FWD...

looks like what the civic should have been before it became the accord and the accord became a Crown Vic...

They had them at the Denver auto show but the doors were locked... booo.... pre-prod model...

The name is odd, but that's about all...

Might have to give it a second look. It was covered by yuppies when we went over there the other day and we couldn't get within 20 feet of it.

Hit the Scion dealerships locally today to pick out the one we're gonna get tomorrow. They were sold out of damn near everything, and particularly the model/colors we were looking for. :baldy :bluduh SHIT. 30-120 day wait to get one special ordered from Japan with side curtain airbags. :bluduh. SHIT. Xb's are flying off the lots, too. ZERO Xa's at two local dealerships.

It'll be interesting to see how Honda hits that market. I've had my heart set on the scion for a year but if they're unobtainium, we're off to the Honda lot.

I hate the Fit commercials, though. AAGH.

Love the yaris "spider" commercial. :lol3

    2) Nissan Versa 1.8SL
    3) Kia Rio5 SX
    4) Toyota Yaris S
    5) Hyundai Accent GLS
    6) Dodge Caliber SE (They likes the SRT 300hp much better in another review.)
    7) Susuki Reno

    Fit summary:

Quickest 0-60, quickest 1/4 mile, second best fuel economy.
Best seats, most expensive interior, Acura Grade cluster.

Didn't say it was a bad car, just ugly. Never liked that type of styling. I know it's functional, and I'm usually all for functional, but it's still an ugly car.

    I don;t like this either
    [IMG]

But this... Looks completely different to me. In person, it looked even better. Me thinks I am going to order one.

Check the inside. The entire back seat folds down, but they didn't have a pic of it.

And room for my loved one... Oh baaaaaa-by

Found a picture with the back seat down.

Okay...just got back from our local Honda dealer (the one nearby, anyway). Not a damn Fit on the lot. Maybe one stray Civic or two.

    :pissed

That front seat folds forward and I was planning on sticking my legs over that way. Their is another configuration that leave the back seat up and the front folds down flat. Almost as flat as that guy!

Naaah. Tomorrow is supposed to be the day. But inventory dropped over the weekend so we may wait another week.

I may hold off to at least test drive the Fit if we can find one.
