Has anyone tried using the Whelen Vertex lighthead as an auxiliary turn signal, say mounted on the hand protectors, mirrors or panniers? http://www.whelen.com/_AUTOMOTIVE/details_prod.php?head_id=12&cat_id=74&prod_id=427 It's a tiny LED module (7/8"), but from looking at a few YouTube videos, it packs quite a punch. They have flashing and solid-light versions. The flashing one might draw LEO attention cause it looks kinda like a strobe. But I'm thinking you could wire the solid one into your existing turn signal to get it flashing at a normal turn-signal rate. I have the BMW euro-version LED turn signals installed, so not sure whether two separate sets of LED would play nice with CANBUS. Thoughts?
I didn't use the whelen specifically, but after research I decided to add products from http://www.customdynamics.com/. I am very pleased with the results. I know people see my turn signals and brake lights now! They are simple and effective, and there is a whole thread under equipment that I got all my ideas from. http://www.advrider.com/forums/search.php?searchid=5883262
