Greetings ADV riff raff....I moved to this area at the end of March from the mid atlantic region (Richmond, VA if you must know).
There was a thread where old and new came to bs, talk about bikes, plan rides and help each other out etc etc.
I think this region needs one of these centralized threads. With that in mind post whatever, whenever but past experience shows
that Politics & Religion quickly lead to intense debates and Mod intervention resulting in someone being banned :lol3
There seems to be some tolerance of 2nd Amendment subjects but be warned some, and I don't know who they are, might be offended.
So look to Jo Momma etc etc if your looking for trouble...

If this thread dies a cruel and unusual death I'll understand....screw you guys I'm going home...
I'll continue to clutter up some of the other ones around here :deal

So, I'm sure most if not all the locals have ridden the Apache Trail it is pretty sweet for a dirt road.

Apache Trail is a nice ride but a little to busy traffic wise most days. What kind of bike are you riding and do you like to get of the beaten track or do you stick to the dirt roads?

That was just last weekend....I did the AP trail counter clockwise to 188 then up El Oso Rd to 87...took the 990...I caught some slow movers from AJ to the lakes but soon after the Acacia Rec site I had it all to myself...I have the 530 for tight stuff but no truck to get it to the goods.

Just another terrorist from the East coast. I don't know who allows these people to live here. :nah Somebody call sheriff Joe and tell him to build a fence between here and New Mexico.

Hey Michhub did you go to the Cathearders events? I think I may have ridden with you once at Taskers Gap near Edinburg VA back in like 2010. I went there with OnandOff. There was a campout at some private property that was an old ski resort. I moved back to Flagstaff from Harrisonburg last summer.

If you're looking for big wimpy GS that's right up my alley, out taking pictures most of the time if that fits you're riding..

Heading out that way tomorrow, any spots to camp just north of Wahoo's in Santa Barbara, going to hit them up for dinner on my way to Laguna.. Late night roll in, sleep and dash bewfore dawn..

Ther are several forest service Campgrounds off of the 154 north of Santa Barbara. If you are coming in from the east (Taft/Maricopa) the Carrizo Plains are a nice place to camp (if you roll in late and leave early...friggin hot otherwise.) The sooner you get to the coast the cooler you will be. There are a couple of state parks along the beach $$ and attitude to boot. The further you get away from SB the calmer things become.

Normally I am heading through there on my way to/from Austin. Some detours to check out the scenery would be a nice diversion.
