Just got back from camping with the family and found my bike has been stolen. Police report has been made but I figured I'd post here just in case anybody sees one come up for sale in their area. Approximately 6000 miles. CA License # 776879Y.

This photo was taken two weeks ago at Ebbetts pass.

Doubt it will end up near me, but I'll be looking for it.

That really sucks, I'll keep an eye out. Any unique features? Look around nearby, like Santa Cruz. Half the time its just a joyride that doesn't get very far. Also post on BARF?

Thanks everybody. Unfortunately it's going to be difficult to get started without the chipped key so it's not likely to be spotted riding around. I went looking around the area to see if it had just be moved but unfortunately it was missing for 4 days before I found out about it.

Major bummer but after I'm done fuming it will be fun to look for something new.

That sucks! Nice looking ride, what a shame that people could do such a thing. How can they even look at their self in the mirror?
I absolutely despise thievery, friggen ass-wipe mouth breathers.

Make sure to check Craigs site daily, try using a national search. http://www.searchalljunk.com/
They often part them out and try to slide under the radar with non-typical descriptions of the part.

Good luck, I will keep my eyes open here locally for you!

    Here is a photo for ya;

It was taken from in front of my place of business Wednesday night. I thought about pushing it inside the building before I left on vacation but didn't take the extra few minutes to do it. I wish I had. This is considered a safe town. The officer that took the report wasn't even sure how to fill it out.

I'll make sure to keep an eye out .... I see a few 990's around town but haven't noticed a white one with Akra's recently. Have you notified the nearby dealers (Moore's, Honda Peninsula, Scuderia etc) in case anyone tries to get a key programmed at the dealer?

You actually left it outside? When you could have parked it inside? No place is "safe" anymore, Dam thieves. Bummer, i hope you have full coverage.....That is a nice bike, I hope you get it back or cash out well.

Yep, left it outside when I could have left it inside. In hindsight it seems obvious but I don't have a lot of experience with having things stolen. Don't have full coverage. Lesson learned.

I've notified Moore and Sons and will expand that out to other dealers mentioned above.

    Was steering head locked?

How could you steel it without a fork lift?

ouch no full coverage on a 2010

most folks would have full coverage because it would be required due to the loan requirements

    good luck finding it

I have heard of Harleys stolen from behind parked cars in garages. If they want it bad enough, they can take it.

    Damn thieves...

Sorry to hear for what happened. I hoped you would be able to recover some of it via insurance, but without - even a bigger bummer.
I must admit, that often I'm getting complacent as well, thinking who in the world would steal motorcycles these days, especially in an area that is considered safe. I guess I have to be more alert.

I live part time in SC ...I have left my bike out a few times in the past not anymore. Mine look very similar to yours so please folks dont tackle me on the street if you see a white adventure bike. Seems like crime is on the rise here...
Hopefully these low lifes get caught .

there are several postings for parting out a "2008" 990. but, parts he is selling don't appear to have come from the mentioned stolen bike; all stock stuff.

Hope you get at least some of a lead on it. Want a 950 myself; couldn't imagine losing one.
