    Hi everybody !

This is my very first ride report, and the very start of my adventure :clap After months of preparation and dream, after quitting my job, my house and reading tons of threads, blosgs and books this is my turn to have some fun.

So next week I will fly to South africa to retrieve my bike at the capetown port and start the biggest adventure of my life: crossing Africa from south to north on a bike alone :norton

    Let me introduce my bike:

You can read the bike preparation on this thread

The route has really really not be prepared, my f**** zumo 550 has died last week and I even not received my new gps so far !

Lucky you, hope that you have a fantastic adventure.
If I look at your map, you are missing out on Victoria Falls on the border between Zimbabwe and Zambia, do yourself a favour and include this in your trip. Camping at Lake Malavi is also highly recommended.

I am in the big smoke Johannesburg. Let me know if you need any help if you are this side of the country. If you miss out on JHB, no worries, there are better places in SA and Africa to spend time and euros in.

    Have a blast!

    Many Thanks guys !!

It's my very last day today, it's weird ... I am not anxious, I am not exited, I think I havn't realized what will happen tomorrow. I have the wrong impression that I will just do some holidays for one week and going home to meet my girlfriend and enjoy some time to relax, whereas I will be away for 4 months, and I have no ideas how I will manage this adventure !

Anyway I continue my mental procedure: don't think, just go !

Bike has never been so close to south africa !

For SA people, I will land on joburg saturday 14h, I have to go to nelspruit to meet my sister, who takes 2 weeks of holidays with me. Do you know which bus or shuttle can I take ? I saw citibug service, but it arrives at 22pmnot really funny after 30hours of travel :eek1

Easiest would be to take a taxi from the airport to the bus terminus, which is on the other side of the city. (be prepared to pay for that privilege though) Plenty of taxis as you exit the airport. Then take the Greyhound or similar to Nelspruit. You can book your bus ticket online in advance, or your sister can buy you one from any Computicket outlet, like at Shoprite.
