Who's in? Our crew will be camping south of SF at Percebu, come on by and say hi. Our plan is to start prerunning weds afternoon until they kick us off the course :) Looking forward to another good time south of the border!
At least the course won't be the same-o bland-o this year. Looks like it will be going north and actually crossing Hwy 3 as well as not going down as far as Matomi
Anyone need a rider??? =) I was actually planning on riding in mex around then, but I don't think I want to pay the entry fee to solo the race...
Two of us coming down from Canada for our first SCORE race, both on WR's. Definatly got the Baja bug after pre-running the 1000 last year!
We are 287x. Our plans right now are to start pre running the afternoon of March 6 and cover as much of the course as we can before race day.
Never been to Baja, but it's a bucket list kinda place. I read every year about how everyone thinks it's BS that the bikes get caught and how dangerous the cars are....now score has new management and they seem to be trying to make it safer but folks seem to be pissed...what am I missing?
Its complicated and there are varying schools of thought on racing SCORE events in Baja. Some of the differing opinions are even expressed here on this site Is it a good thing that the sportsman racer who can't keep pace be run on a separate route? Prolly for everyone except for the Sportsman. I think that some of the Sportsmen are perhaps being saved from themselves. The problem is those same guy will most likely start entering as pro so they don't have to be run on a separate course.
ay dios mio, this thread is about the race, not the rumors about the race, or the eternal cage v. handlebar conundrum viva baja!
Is that what the 250 normally costs for pro and sportsman bike entries? Seems a little high, sportsman is the same as the loop 1000 in 08.
Next will be bikes on different day nullfying the chance for bikes to be a overall winner... or asterisk
Roger Norman has already said that he would do exactly this if he could get a "Title Sponsor" with an extra $10K per event to pay for the expenses.
