Yep, but it looks like slingshottin' out of the last corner may not work with these new cars, at least not in restrictor plate races.

    Edit: Hmmmmm . . . . . maybe what's needed is an iris-y thingamabob instead of a fixed-size-orifice plate and a button so that
    the driver could "open 'er up" a few times per race, for only a few seconds per actuation, and . . . . . . . . . . .

Good race. It's crazy how the inside line wasn't really working all week and then right at the end Jr. leads a train to the inside and dumps 2nd and 3rd car back into the pack.

Good run by Patrick, brought it home with good points. Surprised Gorden finished 20th, thought he was in decent position going into the last pit stops.

Clean race overall, I thought. Nobody got crazy.

The cars have complete frames they are not unibodies.

Yeah good on JJ Yeley. I was pretty spectacular in open wheel. Surprised his success in NASCAR has been so tepid.

    something fishy........
why did Knaus say" flat rear tire , remember" over the radio after the infield trip which just "happened" to tear off the nose ?

Maybe his nose was a little low again, and infield trips like that destroy it so it can't be measured.

Yeah, yesterday's race everyone got crazy bumping into one another.
    No wonder that wreck occurred!

I'm surprised that inside line didn't work most of the day.

I wanted Mark Martin to take the win!
Nice to see him though on the podium.

Has anyone found anyplace to watch online? All the sites I've found want $$$. We got rid of satellite and now stream most things but damned if I can find any NASCAR.

    Looked pretty intentional didn't it?

I thought the racing was very bland and one line. Best move of the day was when Kenseth took the lead with authority, not surprised he scattered that motor, serious power.

It's not the first time. He won a race last year and destroyed the tail in a similar manner so his rear spoiler couldn't be measured.

It struck me as odd that they spent more time talking about the herculean effort to repair the fence ("worked past midnight") than the fact that there were many injuries, two critial and one of the critical injuries was a kid.

As for the racing itself? Meh, not as good as I had hoped. Most of the position shuffles happened in the pits. We'll see what happens when they get to Phoenix.

Restrict or plate races generally are dull, when every car has only one ball, nobody can really step away .

I'm sure they'll tune the bodies a bit as the season progresses.

I thought the last lap was awesome! The veterans took Danica to school. Still, she was great to run up near the front all day and lead a little. She's going to be good.

I remember not to long ago multiple lead changes per lap and not just the last one.
