Northern idaho

Put 8500 miles on the DR this summer. Took hundreds of pictures... Wore out four rear and two front tires.... Broke some ribs...eat some ribs and overall had great time. Going to post some pictures here for family and friends...starting from the end of year this last weekend Nov 9th Enjoy some of the greatest riding country in the world!

Busted over the Fourth of July pass and the silver valley was full of fog...rode 259 down to the snake pit for breakfast...

After breakfast went to Kellogg and up Big Creek...goal was to get over to the Saint Joe River....this would be new country



Active Silver Mine






Ground is MUCH more frozen than it looks....this trail is used by four wheelers and they are tend to dig up huge rocks.....I almost turned around as I would hit sections of ice and frozen ground....this was the shady side...would have been more of an issue if I had to come back down. The rear end would just break loose and it would want to put you over the bars...I almost turned around as I was by myself with a huge cold front coming in later today (probable six inches of snow there now)...but I then just stayed in the gas to the peak.



On top...sort of a strange site? Suspect it was a ashes burial site?



Dropping down into the Joe...sunny side had no ice...yipeee!

These mud holes were dug out by four wheelers and frozen on the sides...I was amazed with how deep they were..like steam off the engine and foot-peg deep...notice the ice on the sides...

This was almost train wreck...needed speed to get through but half way across got it sideways......it was deep...and stayed in the gas... front wheel was in one track and the back wheel in the other...ended up sideways just as I came out... so I dropped the kick stand and took a picture...lucky I did not take a bath

200 mile day...got home and dark...very cold!

Can you post some pictures of your dash set up and list your mods ? Keep posting !

Great pics! Would love to ride up there sometime. Maybe next year.

Hi Brad....took these pictures on a flight to Flathead lake last month. Saw some great places we need to get too...should be able to click on link above and see the location of this look-out on google maps?


My youngest did most of the flying...she is a natural...
