I think McCormick was the only one that survived the season, but the team didn't race the last round at all due to finances. Too bad, as the conditions would have suited him--especially after his results in the previous round. IIRC, he won his Canadian championship on a BMW.

They missed Moscow as well, Not sure was it because they had sacked both riders beforehand or if they just couldn't afford to race there?
You would want a plan B if you were going to race with them.
McCormick looked good on their bike, fast enough, I wonder will they use the old 1198 or the Panigale 1199?

Don't think the 1198 will be allowed to run next year?

I can't read the article, but the title suggests to me that they'd be running BMWs. I think Moscow, along with the rider sackings, was finance-related. Maybe McCormick is bringing a suitcase of cash from Molson's beer and Maple Leaf bacon?

I think the gist is that after being a joke last season, that Infront wanted to block Effenberts participation this season, but that the move to Dorna would allow them to continue because Dorna allows teams to fool around without sanction because thats the way they do it in MotoGP.

Aprilia Picks Guintoli To Replace Mad Max?
    by staff
    Monday, November 26, 2012
It appears Aprilia has selected Sylvain Guintoli to replace retired World Champion Max Biaggi on its factory World Superbike team, as the Frenchman tested an RSV4 Monday at Jerez.

Guintoli settled in right away on his new bike, turning the fifth-best time overall at the multi-manufacturer test, 1:42.838. Testing took place under mainly sunny skies, with track time interrupted by a brief shower.

Tom Sykes of Kawasaki led the test with an unofficial lap of 1:41.3. Kawasaki was the only team not to mount transponders to its bikes, but hand timing confirmed the fast lap. Michel Fabrizio was second on an Aprilia at 1:42.170, followed by Eugene Laverty's Aprilia at 1:42.226.

Honda were struggling. Leon Haslam was the quickest Honda at 1:42.954, followed by Ten Kate teammate Jonny Rea at 1:43.223. Both riders said they were more concerned with finding grip and a good feel with their CBR 1000RR machines than pure speed.

Testing continues Tuesday and Wednesday, with BMW and Ducati joining the fun Wednesday. Then MotoGP teams will take over through Friday, with Ducati Corse, Pramac and BQR on track.

He has been starting and qualifying ahead of everyone all year (2012). Either he or Kwack needs to figure out how to make a rear tire go race distance. :deal

The field is looking strong this season. :clap

He had at least one engine failure this season though, I would guess that there isn't much left in that engine as a safety margin.
Mind you against the Ape that is reputed to have used 39 engines during the course of the year, it seems like disposable engines are the order of the day.
