Me and my brother drove down to Springfield for the mile this year to find out it was cancelled because of rain. Looks like there will be a double header on Labor Day weekend with the rescheduled rain date.
Sho nuff! And I just bought my tix for both days We usually go to Labor Day but miss Memorial Day to go fishing in Canada so I didn't know it was canceled. Thanks for the heads up spdjnky
Can anybody tell me about Colonial Downs race in Virginai on August 24. This looks to be the closest mile race to my area and I am thinking about going. Also the track is listed as 1.25 mile and not 1 mile. Thanks Roger
Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't realize that they had made an addition to the schedule. I'm heading down to Hagerstown in a couple weeks, and I definitely will have this one on my RADAR.
anyone heading to Lima? 50% chance of rain at this point, probably wait till morning before deciding if I ride over. If I go, I'll be camping in the parking lot.
Thinking about it. 3 hours for me... Ride / drive, not sure. I would hate to ride the slab 3 hours just to have a rain out...
Who's going? Just got back from seeing the Barbara Fritchie Classic in Frederick, MD. 17 heat races, and some experts were in attendance with the Hagerstown round coming up this Saturday.
Great seeing you and your son there, Tim. I know you were just there to spectate, but you haven't lost your touch with the photos! Nice work!

What a nice kid, but I guess they all really are. He was so pumped to win his first race, and the interviews he gave were very heartfelt, not the usual party line BS that multi-time winners seem to perfect. I hope there are many more wins in his future. There was a large crowd last night, and the singles races were hotly contested. The singles main saw a real duel for first between two riders. Nice evening once the heat abated a bit, and some great racing. Barry and the boys did an excellent job putting on the show. The announcing team really seems to click, and they alternate between some informative reporting of rules explanation, etc., while getting some timely interviews and pit reports. Well done to everyone involved, it was a pleasure to listen to that quality of work.
SPOILER ALERT! A few highlights of the Expert Twins main from Sammy Halbert. <iframe width="853" height="480" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/2jn83rcV-tQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
