Hi, I have to sell my lovely bike, HP2 (You now, in Europe we have small crises :) ), and I bought cheap version adventure bike DR 650SE, I rode on this model in Asia, Stephen owner, it was really nice bike to adventure riding...........
my new bike it is not good adventure bike like Stephen but I have small workshop and I love changes.............. I like to check everything in my motorcycle, and I like change bike for my ride.. In this thread I would like tell You about my modification, I read every thread and post about DR (I think), but if You have some attention, write in this thread, bike ids not end yet........... I removal carburetor, throttle cable is not good condition............. I take off rear wheel first problem is with cushion lever
I take off everything from rear suspension and travel. I take off cylinder head cover, it is OK, cylinder head, conrod is very good condition..
I removing clutch cover, I will install neutral switch for Loctite, it is problem - damage engine is it unscrew........ next I checked left side...... It is OK, only simmering on gearshift lever is not good, I will change it
Looks like you'll have a fun time getting it sorted. Do you normally ride this time of year, or wait until warmer times?
I checked piston and piston rings, it is not goos condition I bought from Friend cylinder with piston and piston rings for 90 USD , it like new new metal gasket I installed left cover and right cylinder with piston new gasket..... cylinder head after regeneration irid spark plugs engine it is complete :)
on allegro.pl (it is polish ebay) I bought front forks with wheel and brake, from KTM EXC 520 - WP43 I measured everything, I have to produce my own special tool (dopra-tool) for front EXC forks I installed front fork from KTM EXC 520 to my DR 650 SE bike , it is easy.

Picked up your build thread from the BIG DR650 thread. Nice job on the rebuild. Man ... your DR has seen some HARD use. Hope you can get it all sorted. The KTM forks are nice ... but aren't they TOO long for the DR650? Good luck with everything!
What did you do for the steering head bearings? When I did mine, the Suzi cups were a close match for the KTM races, but after 100 kms they were notched and stuffed, so not close enough. I now have a complete Suzuki bearing on the bottom and complete KTM bearing up top after sleeving the shaft for the bottom and head tube for the top.
