Hi guys, long time no see. My other hobby has kept me on two (unpowered) wheels lately, but I'd thought I'd check in and solicit some volunteers for an upcoming event.

The Richmond Tri Club has their Club Championship sprint triathlon coming up on April 27th at the Greater Richmond Aquatics Partnership. They're seeking volunteers with motorcycles to act as course marshals during the race.

I've ridden as mc marshal for three races over the last two years, so I can offer a little input as to what you'll do and what you can expect. Two-seater bikes are preferred, as there will be two USAT referees that will need to be driven through the bicycle course. With enough motorcycle volunteers on hand, one will be available to ride as leadout to escort the lead cyclist through the course.

If you've never been to a local triathlon, it's a fun, supportive atmosphere... and you'll usually get a t-shirt for your trouble. :D

If you're interested, check out http://mms.richmondtriclub.com/members/evr/reg_event.php?orgcode=RTCL&evid=5848171. or email me at andymoser@hotmail.com. Thanks!

It's a lot of fun! A few years ago I carried a TV camera man around all day for the Sandman triathlon in Va Beach! It looked like so much fun that it motivated me to get into shape and compete the following year. I'd be up for it...
