I've got a Remus Viper full system on my GS. While it's louder than stock, I want thunder-of-the-gods sweet music. There's no rivets or anything to take the pipe apart and was wondering if it's possible.
Peeps, I had carbon straight thru cans on my Ducati, thunder gods material right there. Thought it was awesome, sounded sweet, gave me a hard-on. Until I had to ride for anything more than 20 miles. It was killing my ears. I thought about doing that to my 950, as it has the stock cans drilled out, but after doing 500 miles in a day, I'm glad I didn't make it any louder. If your GS is just to hoot around on, all for it. If you are using it for long distance, you may wish to rethink the sound vs. eardrum longevity thing. YMMV
Just remember, the louder your pipes - the smaller everyone thinks your winky is. No sh*t. And yes, my F 650 has a Remus and my Duc has aftermarket cans. They rumble, but not enough to make me look too small.
I'm sitting in my backyard right now. A few minutes ago I heard a group of Harleys riding down a bridge about 1/2 a mile from my house over the music that's playing. It was loud. Louder than if my Vstrom was idling 10 feet behind me. Do you want to be those guys? Loud pipes just piss me off.
I've got a Remus with Y-pipe...way too loud. Earplugs even, its just too much. Will sell if interested. BTW throttle response much better than stock, I think...or, is it just louder?!?
