planning on riding across the northern states from the great lakes & back & am looking for some places to pitch a tent to sleep the night away under the stars. north & south dakota, iowa, minnesota, wyoming, montana. now i can find a state park on my smart phone but i was looking for something a little more creative, or do i dare say "adventure like" hit me with the knowledge folks.
You can camp for free almost anywhere in National Forests or on BLM land or a lot of State land. Just contact the local office for any land unit you are interested in to see if there are any local restrictions.
