Hello, need some opinons on axle sliders to supplement the crash bar mounted. Does it really protect the bike in case of a fall?
If you don't have any engine/frame crash bars....rear luggage on it, then I think they will help. But if you hang the ornaments on there, I don't think you will contact the rear..... Maybe the front, I would have to see it laid down. When mine tipped over in the snow, it was on the rear luggage bag....crash bar, and handlebar end. No axle contact. But maybe I am just a good crasher...
Neither of those axle points touch down. Assuming you have crash bars installed, if you must have sliders, you'll need to find someone to make them to fit them on your passenger pegs, bar ends and brake and clutch levers, and perhaps your muffler can depending upon the surface you plan to slide on. In other words, sliders on a dual sport with wide handlebars and crash bars just seem kinda silly. Oh, and the mirrors just swing away. So, don't ask how many times, but it's a great bike, and you'd hardly notice! Fred
