NE Alabama Information needed.

    I am working on a route which starts in NW Alabama goes into Southern Tennessee and then back into the NE Alabama area..

    This route is going to be a dual sport route and I am looking at TOPO maps between Hytop, Stevenson and Skyline.

    I am seeing dirt roads in and around Putman Mountain and the like which turn into trials.. These trails are not marked in either Google Earth or Mapsource.

    Has any one riden this area and can you tell me if the ridge of Putman Mountain is passable...

    I don't know about the pass, but I can tell you about the food. Since you are in the area, be sure to check out the Pickwick Landing State park just over the line into Tennesse at the corner of NW Alabama. They have a big A frame lodge with a restuarant. We stopped there for lunch a couple years ago. It was an all you can eat buffet including catfish and hush puppies for $5.00. It was fabulous.
