Word. I rode Titus Canyon on my wee strom with Conti Trail Attacks. Knobbies would have been so nice.

Yes, we are. Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. For example: towing a GSA, well, anywhere would be on the opposite end of the spectrum.

If you wanna split hairs, Joe from SF rocked a Wee Strom with a couple guys and I a few years ago on a pretty fun trip to WMRS. He made it. But the wheels were square and he certainly struggled more than necessary. (He also rides a DR now)

But in all seriousness, rock whatever you like- a Vespa, who cares- but just ride. Shoot, BiggerAl's wife came a while back and rode a Honda Elite as she was just starting to ride. :thumb

I think it's wonderful you made it through Titus. Have they finished paving it yet? :hide JUST KIDDING! I'm just feeling sassy from a rough day at work...

Just because you can does not mean that you should, nor that you will have a good time doing it. I had a much better time in the dirt with the smaller bikes. I kept thinking I wanted a bigger dirt bike. Sold the baby, xr400, and have regretted it everyday since.

No, it's not paved. I'm not going to lie and say I rode like a rockstar but the feedback from the ride leader and everyone else was overwhelmingly positive. Was it easy? No. But it was challenging, rewarding, and fun, as it should be. Your mileage may vary. Here's a photo of me out messing around recently. Note my riding guru's FZ6A. :D

There are some dirt roads in the vicinity that are doable on a DL.

I think I sent you that memo a couple of times. Hey, weren't you going to borrow one of my spare sleeping pads for the Noob Rally?

Oh, if you want to borrow my 200 smoker for Warped, you are welcome to. I'll be riding my 690.

Note to self: do NOT come in over Greenhorn Pass (again) if it is raining at the base. :lol3 On the plus side, making it up and over the snowed-in pass on a street tire-shod wee-strom earned me my "snowman" nickname with this bunch of hooligans. :rofl

Are you sure I won't kill myself on your smoker? I'm honored you would lend me your bike! I will take it! :raabia :happay :freaky

I like my Strom in most dirt. I'm a big soft stuff wuss though as Stoke and Shooby can atest to. A smaller bike would be much more fun and a faster way to travel in the dirt. I've been browsing Craigslist and whatnot for a DRZ.:D

I've been over Greenhorn in all kinda crappy weather on my R1100RS running MeZ4 touring tires. smooooth and steady as she goes, and its just fine, as long as its not hard icy.
