The nice thing down here is YOU get to decide how much risk you want to assume for yourself instead of some rules IMPOSED by others (some people are willing to accept more risk and some people are willing to accept less... that's perfectly normal).... I read a couple of days ago that in some Canadian Province standing on the bike has become against the law, even on dirt? WTF???

Seriously, my point is: Is riding in Latin America more dangerous than riding in the USA/Canada?Europe ?
NO!!!
But, since the imposed rules are not really enforced, most everybody does what they please, so It is us riders who make it more dangerous by riding like hooligans...
I've read plenty of RR on here of people who rode through Latin America obeying the Speed Limit (whatever THAT is ) and had a great time also...

Oh... he rode bitch on the back of everybody's bike here while his "Mexican Whore" was "in surgery"... At the end he could hold his breath for about 4 mins straight
I'm sure he won't admit it, but I think he even ended up liking it... was even talking about getting some "we're not gay, he's my brother" stickers for his helmet

Interesting question....All I can say is that , I dont know about the rest of the Southamerican riders, but after seeing 4 hs of "TrueTV" I' m very concern of crossing Rio Grande in NORTH direction.....

That being said, I rest my case and leave the keboard in order to eat an asado and taste a good Argentinian Malbec...
Cheers!

not to piss on your tent OP....

but I would love to learn how to do a triple clamp table top mesa jump thing you say you can do.... But fuck it man, I am happy to solo it down here in Latin America. Woke up way too early in Xela, Guatemala. It's actually Quetzletenango on the map, check it out man.... Like someone mentioned, get on the bike and point it south.... oh the gas is the right side of the handle bars , but you know this by being able to do do the triple clamp table top mesa jump thing.....

not trying to sound like a dick, but sometimes it does come easy for me.... if you don't Really plan on coming south of the border, it's pointless to "'could we discuss this every year please'" just read rr's and trip planning, that should be enough....
