Stripped the strom down and got the radiator ready to ship out for repairs then rode the DR into town for lunch.

Here's a couple of vids from that $8 keychain camera...still need to work on the aim a little.

This one is on a weird rock-swamp sort of area between my house and town.

Had a close call meeting a car on a hilly curve...narrow dirt road.

Here's a shot of that rad and the area I think the leak is coming from....

...can't really see any damage to a tube though, a few crumpled fins in spite of being covered by a guard...but maybe the guard hasn't always been there? :dunno

    Hello Banjo,

It's hard to believe your bike is parked on a NC "state" Hwy in front of the store there in the hamlet of M...... isn't it.?

It's still pretty hard to get down in there so I don't think we need to worry about too many interlopers.
The cages along Wilson Creek Gorge are the ones clogging up the place on the weekends. Ha.

I've spent many lonely afternoons during the week running Old House and RockHouse , and School House trails down there........no bikes, cars, or cell phone service...........and yeh Rockhouse is gated most of the time except during hunting periods.

I forget how blessed I am to live at the top of Seven Devils looking straight across my deck at Grandfather Mtn realizing how many bikers travel from far and wide to ride that area.

    Very nice RRs.

That saw mill is at Gragg, correct?

Sadly, as of late last Fall, Coffey's store has been closed.
The old fella that has been running it is ill and rumor was from neighbors across the street that the building is for sale........but it has no septic.....
    so..............

The story was........during the big Wilson Creek flood of 1940 the store floated down stream a couple hundred feet to where it sits now.......
and they just set up shop again where it presently sits.......no plumbing.

Hey BarberPole! :wave Have we met yet?

Thanks for the kind words! :D

I didn't know that about Coffey's store and haven't been through there lately....

Just talked to ICW and my radiator has already been repaired! :huh :clap Awesome! as I shipped it out UPS late yesterday afternoon and he just received it this afternoon and it's already on it's way back! That deserves another clap! :clap

Seems it was a stress crack in that tube below the mount.....not a surprise.

Next time you're in the neighborhood stop by. Big green building behind the bug shop. There were 5 turkeys to start with, now down to 2. i think the local coyote mafia has something to do with that.Maybe these 2 will learn to roost and make it a while longer.

Had to run into Charlotte earlier today but couldn't resist going for a little spin since the weather turned out to be so nice. Should have been checking the valves on the Strom but decided the DR needed an oil change. :evil

$8 keychain/helmetcam video of that driveway....the aim is better now that I took it apart and shimmed up the lens.
