I'm suprised at the amount of timber still standing after Katrina...

My grandpa's place in Walthall county did not fare so well...

I'm new to the forums and located in Picayune. Would love some ideas for weekend rides. I'm a transplant from Vicksburg, so no really familiar with the area.

    Thanks in advance.

Did you hit the ORV trails while in Desoto? Great place to ride, dirt or paved.

Used to be south, but now Central, :D

Anyone ever up for a morning weekday ride gimme a shout. I work nights so of course I'm a litte off-kilter with the world. Or vise-versa:D Desoto is good, just remember hunting season. Glad to see some response for the Louisissippi coast.

ninjammin, I'm from Mobile. We could meet in the middle somewhere. My favorite way to forget about work is to ride from about 9 til 1. Welcome to ADV by the way.

Maybe when creola comes thru we could show him some southern hospitality. creola, what kinda route you got planned or just a general direction?

Forrestrider, one the these days we will ride again!

Trophy1298, they just redid the ORV right across from the old POW camp.

Hey guys! I've been reading the forums for a while, but was starting to think not many people were around South Miss! I'm in Long Beach and am currently 'in between opportunities' so I wouldn't mind riding some mornings! I have a Honda Superhawk (bought it in the forums!) so I won't be able to handle much dirt.

I'll be leaving central Fl on Saturday and riding the slab to Quincy Fl, then heading north into GA and west on the back roads through GA, AL, and MS to Lucedale by Sunday or Monday night. From Lucedale to Wiggins and into the DeSoto NF for a couple days in MS dirt. On into Bogalusa to a little WMA northwest of town for some more dirt. Head for home through Gulfport, Mobile (take the DI ferry) and then follow the Fl shoreline home.

Be great to ride with some locals.

My F-650 will be loaded but moving (when not resting) on Metzeler Karoos for the dirt.

Creola, I might be up for a ride sometime Sunday afternoon or Monday morning, If you're in the Picayune area. I'm only on a ninja 250 with street tires though. (Kenda Touring)

edit: I'll actually be coming back from Vicksburg to Picayune Sunday. Maybe on the bike maybe not....
