Oh goody 1117 Miles. I was going to look for a partner if it was over 1200 so I'm still a go solo. Do you ride the new pavement from Puertecitos almost to Gonzaga or do they have a dirt route for that section?
Perhaps. Not going over the summit, will drop onto the highway before the Goat Trail. Long assed highway section now between Puertecitos and Gonzaga. Remember that the highways all have speed limits now, ain't WFO like before, so the highway can actually hurt your average speed.
You had an official finishing average of 60mph? It's a P-run, they are always fast, but Sundown is at 4:45. I'll be thrilled if I can avg. 40 mph over the 1100 miles on my poor little 350. I doubt I'll be speaking english at the finish line.
The 2010 Prun looks similar and here are the 2010 full results for all bikes/trucks. Looks like Kendall team did 54.9 MPH with the next closest , Franco, with 47. 1MPH Can someone explain to me how the time penalty works?
No summit!! No you do not ride the pavement by Puertocito's in the whoops The dirt road at Gonzaga to Cocos is WFO Sunset and darker two different things
Hi guys, Ive been looking around online, but cant find any entry regs/prices.. any of you able to tell me the cost of entering ironman? Do we have to pay for support teams to enter? A buddy and I were just chatting about entering as an ironman pair next year.. Cheers!
Entry Fees : http://www.score-international.com/webresources/files/1141/results/Entry%20Fees.pdf MOTO Pro $3200 or MOTO Sportsman $1900 Plus Pits.... ( includes fuel in Full service ) The Early-Bird special is back! Sign on BEFORE 1 Oct. and save 50 bucks! Costs for MAG-7 Pit service's are: Full-service All classes: $850.00 Emergency-only, All classes: $400.00 Plus the e-tracker rental....do we have to rent that still? I can't find the pricing for that... anyone?
Look on the score website I do not believe there is any discount for Ironman You need to write ProClass and ride solo Or right sportsmen and right so
For every (1) MPH over the limit, the penatly will be 30 seconds. So if you are going 70mph in a 60mph you will get a 5 min penalty every time the IRC hits, somewhere around 10 times per mile traveled.
In June it was $150-ish. Plus you have to buy a $10 otterbox. That is the minimum, you could add a redundant and/or live tracking.
Cheers for that! Alot cheaper than some of the desert rallies we normally enter! Will do some more research on this.. could make for a really cool season closer next year! Since watching Dust2Glory, the madness has been in my mind! Best of luck all who are racing this year!
Well I just tried to contact the IRC guys to get the details but looks like their main email is not working.... Tried calling but no one around to answer any questions. sigh
They are a total PIA, in a few weeks there will be a PDF release on the SCORE website with all the info. The good thing is (unless something has changed since the 500) all you need to worry about is mounting the otterbox, which you can buy at REI, Sportsman's, ect, the device is installed on the startline.
Very few will avg 60mph in those chewed up rocky whoops between Matomi & Puertecitos. Sure Papa Fernandez to Coco's is WFO (and beyond to where you turn off and into Calamajue), but then it's not that fast through Calamajue wash out to El Crucero and over to BoLA road. Those sections between Puertecitos and Coco's and below BoLA are what used to bring the average speeds up when comparing to loop 1000 averages. Again now with that long paved section between Puertecitos and Gonzaga it sux. Would much rather be riding after dark than at sunset. Twilight is THE worst.
Is anyone headed down to ensenada from San diego around the 12? One of my chase crew wants to meet us down there but will need to get from san diego to ensenada and is looking for a ride. Anyone got room?
Hell I don't care what our average is just as long as we make the time I have been looking at the site and can't find what the time limit is this year anyone know? I would like to know what we need to average to make the time.
From the schedule of event it looks like over 40 hrs. 30 hrs would be a 37 mph avg which would dnf most of the field.
