There are hardbag mounts available. I sold one of these to a guy when I sold Asian bikes and he had bag mounts purchased off the web before he got home.
Remember that they sold this bike for a while in Europe. SW-Motech makes them: http://www.twistedthrottle.com/trade...tview/1995/77/

The black looks good. I was all hot for the plasma blue one we had in our showroom when that guy bought it.
It's a terrific all arounder. just a wonderful machine. Yours looks really great. Practically new.

During my cruiser to sport-touring conversion, I spent almost a full year researching bikes. I didn't want/need anything around 1000cc's since I rarely travel two-up but still wanted something that would handle freeway speeds comfortably. At one point I had it narrowed down to a Ninja 650, Versys, V-Strom 650, Suzuki GSX650F and a Yamaha FZ6R. I was lucky enough to ride all of them except the Strom. After riding them all I really like the Suzuki and the Yamaha, which was hard after owning 2 Vulcans. I had become pretty loyal to Kawasaki over the years. The Suzuki was a bit heavier, which is great on the highway but the Yamaha seemed to do everything just right for me. I must admit I swapped out the front sprocket for a +1 so it cruises on the highway at a bit lower RPM but that is just me being picky. I know a lot of Versys and 650R folks who do the same. I have almost 10K on my 6R now and I have no plans of getting rid of it anytime soon. I've done several multi-day trips on it and I use soft bags because it's nice to strip her down naked if I feel like hitting some twisties on a weekend.
My .02 cents brother. Best of luck... Quote:

Congratulations! An oft-overlooked bike, since they weren't offered here for more than a couple of years.
Keep in touch as you modify it to suit your taste.

All the questions from the OP about throwing bars on a sportbike and not one mention of the LSL Superbike bar kit.
Wow.
