This thread is for photos of yourself on your first motorcycle.

I will start this thread with a pic of myself on the very first minibike I ever rode.

We were on a fishing trip in Eastern Washington staying at a family friends house when they let me ride this minibike.

I never did go fishing that day (my Sister and my Dad caught 22 fish) however I did do my first face plant when I tried to "jump" a big hole and Failed!

Here is the bike that started it all.

I could barely touch the ground back then too! :rofl

I was a bit older than you were. Here's me young and foolish about to pick up my first bike. And by pick up, I mean in more ways than one.

I wish I had a photo. It was a Rupp minibike, lawnmower engine, but had a gas tank in front of the seat just like a "real" motorcycle. I thought that was really cool. It was 1965 and I was 8 years old and was on top of the world! :D

My wife gave me a birthday card this morning (51 years) that had a picture of me on the mini-bike I got for my 8th birthday. I sat a stared at that picture for quite a while, it really took me back.

I figured there were probably others out there, so let's see them.

    Nice thread!

My first bike was a 1979 Suzuki RM125. I wish I had a picture. I was 13 and couldn't reach the ground with both feet! It was a blast!

It was 1976. Believe it or not it was a 125cc 2-stroke Harley!

Here I am at 17 on my first "big bike"! I worked hard at a liquor store and as a security guy for over a year, and I was so proud to walk into the Kawasaki dealer and place all the cash in front of the salesman. I was the 2nd guy in my high school to have a bigger bike; most had 50cc's only.

    Can't find a pic.

But my first ride was a 1972 Yamaha R5C...two-stroke twin, 350 cc's. The precursor or the RD400...they used to call it an "organ-donor's bike."

    (Pic is representative)

I didn't know a thing about bikes at the time. I bought it for the price and the apparent condition...it was cosmetically good and very cheap, and it started right up. Unfortunately it had a pinging problem that I couldn't get rid of; that I made worse with a crude carbon-head job I did with a butterknife that scoured the aluminum heads.

A tendency for the throttle to stick wide-open, coupled to a lack of a kill switch (didn't become required until a few years later) and the cost of the Y-shaped throttle cable with sliders, determined the fate of the bike. I sold it to another n00bie for about what I paid for it, and bought a Yamaha SR 500.

And got a nice case of road-rash and broken calcium when I got run off the road by a cage, far from home. That was it, for 22 years...until two years ago.

I learned to ride on the Suzuki 125 that I am sitting on. My brother and I shared the Honda Trail 90 that he is sitting on. Great times.
