That spinnaker you've got bolted to the front of your bike probably helps your fuel economy... if the wind is at your back, that is. :D

    Just kidding!

Maybe I've been on my laptop a bit too long today, but... these photos make the scenes look like miniatures in a diorama; the 990 looks like a toy! What kind of camera & lens did you use?

It's a "filter"/effect used either in camera or post processing.

BTW, what is the real capacity of useable fuel in our stock tanks?

    5.5 US gallons?

The 990s have a 5.28 gallon tank and the 950s had an ever-so-sligntly larger amount due to the fact they have an external fuel pump (the 990s use an internal fuel pump). The stock tanks are not plastic and do not expand appreciably.

    Thank ye.

I've never run it dry yet, so didn't know actuals. There are ALL sorts of numbers out there on the webs. :lol3 With 5.8 being the most common...

I guess I WAS at the laptop too long because I missed the "Tilt-Shift" in the title of the post. Thanks xdbx, for the PM with the explanation and link... pretty interesting techniques!

If you would like to know how far your particular bike will go with your particular riding style.. fill up both tanks and turn off the petcock to the right tank.

Now go ride it until it runs out of gas. Double that number and you have your fuel range.
Turn the petcock on the right tank back on and continue on your merry way.

Ya that gets you close but there is more fuel in the right tank than in the left on a 990. Ehehe yes I'm being picky:D
