WTB - new 2012 Triumph XC Washington state

Driving from Alaska to Washington state next week and was wondering if any of your riders knew of a dealer close to I - 5 between Bellingham and Tacoma who is selling XC's with abs cheap?

Can find them all day long for $11,995 but I have my sights set on $11K or it is not worth my while to load it on the trailer, buy insurance for it, and haul it back only to leave it sit until April of 2013.

I-90 Motorsports in Issaquah may have some. Good folks.
Talk to Don.
Ain't gonna get any killer deals though - they turn the bikes.
Gotta pay to play.

No dice, they were the only dealer I contacted before posting here. They did have a orange and a white but their price was 11,995 and they would not budge $1.

Try Cycle Barn in Lynnwood, that is where I just got mine, and so far been pretty happy.

Good luck. According to my dealer Triumph USA is sold out on the 800XC's and no more are available until the 2013 model year. Whatever is left at the dealers is all that's coming for this model year.

Thanks, I'll drop Cycle Barn an email. Still have some time as I don't leave Alaska until this coming Thursday.

Yes, Triumph "sold out" of XC's. That means they no longer have any to ship to the dealers but there are still a ton sitting on show room floors (check Cycle Trader).

The 13's are due into the dealers mid Oct so just hoping a dealer wants to move a 2012 model.

I don't think I'd say there's a ton of them out there. Cycle Trader and other on-line sales sites are a poor judge of what's truly available since dealers advertise items for sale that they don't really have in stock. I had that happen to me quite a bit and the usual excuse is, "Oh, we just sold that". Except I've been going into that dealer looking around and never did see that bike being advertised for such a sweet price.

When I was talking to my dealer on Friday he mentioned that he can't get anymore XC's and has customers wanting them. The other dealers won't trade for them because they're in the same boat. Roadies are a different story. Maybe this is just a regional or Commiefornia thing, but we all know the Tiger line is a hot seller.

The only other dealers I know of are Triumph of Tacoma (Tacoma obviously) and Peninsula Triumph (Port Orchard / Bremerton). You can contact them, but I am not aware of any deals to be had. I think there is also one in Bellingham.

+1
They are becoming unobtanium.

If you can get one for $11,900 plus tax and license, no freight or setup, then that's a deal. Probably a steal-deal in todays market. This model is gaining momentum in desirability. There just isn't anything negative about them. Not only do the owners rave about them, but the professional reviewers are calling it the best adventure bike on the market. When this happens, demand just keeps going up. Hence prices hold.

I have one, absolutely love it. I got it for $11,900 plus T&L. Added on a sump guard, centerstand, and engine guards. That motor is a gem.

If you want a brand new XC, then you might want to wait & see if they offer an R version with real suspension & better brakes. If you don't mind shopping, then you can buy slightly used & save some money.

Going to pass until I find a good price. If I don't, well there are plently of other choices, including buying used next summer.
Thanks for the tips.

The other thing is bike prices on the west coast are just higher than elsewhere. I look at the flea market here on Advrider or Cycletrader and the midwest and the south (especially) seem to have a lot better deals. Used bikes here go for more and so many new go for list price. The couple times I've bought new bikes here in Washington I haven't been able to chip anything off the asking price (especially with my at the time in-demand 2004 Triumph Thruxton).

I think Howard at Champion Cycle in Bellingham is your most enthuisiastic Triumph man. If anybody might give you a break, it could be him (if he has the bike).

I'm pretty sure Howard has a black 800XC in Bellingham. Don't know if he'll knock any price off, but it would be worth it to talk with him at least.
