Abbott?? No

I went past Ripplebrook & left at the Timothy cut off (Oak Grove fork). I Made it to Hideaway, then tried to get to Frasier Turnaround but was stopped by snow.

Get out there & report back.

OK! I'm reporting back.

Road Abbott (4610) today from 224 over to High Rock. Felt like summer up there. A few muddy ruts here and there, but overall smooth sailing.

A tree has fallen over the slip improvements so I opted for the steep way down. Wasn't bad, but I did get a little hung up in some deep mud in the middle.

Little section of snow where Abbott turns back to pavement on 58.

Also can confirm there's no snow on NF-48 and NF-43 is clear. I slogged thru the mud up to Bonney Meadows campground before I got stopped by snow.

It's been a sad ski season but at least there's moto to be had in the mountains.

We could not make it to Bonney Meadows CG last year in Late May at the Barlow campout. And Abbott being snow free is just weird.
Thanks for the report!!

Punkin and I, along with Mustangshelly on her Dizzer got out for a while in the afternoon yesterday. First ride in over a year for Punkin!! We went nowhere fun, a shakedown cruise just to town to pressure wash the grimy & slimy beast before putting the rest of the details on her. We'll report back next weekend on a bigger ride!

Glad to hear Punkin is back on the road! And just in time for Spring Break!

Now I have the goal of getting the KLR/sidecar rig going before then. We'll see..... That 3-wheeled rig was soooo much fun sliding it sideways around those smooth CO dirt roads last year!

Sorry I missed you, Sprague and Company a few weeks back at East Fort Rock. We had a most awesome weekend there. I flogged mustangshelly's DRZ around those wide quad trails like it was on rails, it seemed. I can't wait to get back there on Punkin with her freshly improved legs!!

This weekend was a bit rainy, but she called, and I obeyed
Aquaduct Rd off 17 & 44 had some treefall and I could not get through.
(I lost the right side tube stopper a while back; replacement ordered!)

Pretty spot to stop in these shadows....

Uuurrrch!!!!! Dead end trying to find a back way into Ketchum Rd

The light sprinkle this afternoon was enough to keep the mountain covered in clouds, and mustangshelly at home safe in the dry house.
I still got a nice view of the upper valley.
My house is near the mirror stalk:

Fricking rear Axle Nut that Craig told me not to overtighten came OFF and was LOST along with one chain adjuster!! .....I got just a bit stuck somewhere out there....nothing that a few cuss words and McGuyvering couldn't do to allow me to limp home a few hours later. It's hard to keep torque low on this beast

G'damn it's nice to see Punkin in action out there again! That's what shakedown trips are for, seeing what falls off close to home

Abbott Road - or :the KLR rides it better without me

After reading CineRiders RR I decided to go up and look at the thing
myself, took my riding buddy Mike along as well as some chainsaws
to cut the fallen log CineRider mentioned.

In my mind that log is all that would keep me from just riding across, right?

RIGHT???
