Just an FYI for those heading north out of Phoenix on I-17. For unknown reason(s) northbound traffic is at a near grid-lock from about Black Canyon city all the way to New River Rd. That is (10) miles of pure torture. Info is current as of mid day Friday. I was returning from the North and witnessed the mayhem. People standing everywhere, cars overheated, etc. I strongly advise all heading to the expo, or anywhere north from Phoenix to avoid this at all costs. Plan accordingly.
No idea, been out on the trail all week. Whenever this first occurred, I cant say. What I do know is, as of noon-thirty, people are still in a bad spot. It did not look fun. Anyone going north WILL get effected, bank on it. My info is a bit old now, does anybody have current info?
A news article published at noon said it was motorcycle accident at 0945 that " led authorities to contain traffic to one northbound lane for a 9-mile stretch north of New River, near the Rock Springs Road exit."
