Took the drive sprocket cover off, scrubbed away all the old grease that had found its way into the nooks and crannies. A bit more than my usual "spray and wipe."

I fitted the heated grips I bought last week - I only need the one as they cost an arm and a leg!:rofl

Fairly easy job but you have to virtually strip the bike to do it. Also fitted some cheap bar-end mirrors following my experiment with removing the OE ones. I was amazed how much wind noise and buffeting was reduced but also how much you grow to rely on them - arrived home with a sore neck. If the new cheapo ones prove OK I'll upgrade to some that cost more than £12.50 ($20) and don't have wavy glass!

So I did the 14k service:
    • Oil
    • filters
    • Rear brake pads

    Still need to do:
    • Front brake pads
    • sprockets
    • chain
    • Tires

Then I took her out for Veterans Day:

Probably the last ride up there for the year unless we get some freakishly warm weather this winter... yea right :cry Most of the trees were already bare, next year I need to head up there earlier.

Replaced my leaky clutch slave cylinder with a shiny orange anodised Oberon one.... very Gucci :D

And shoved some new rear brake pads in and swapped my knobbly shod wheels with the road wheels/tyres.

    The big Katoom lives again!

Next job is to refit my Ralle Moto steering damper that finally came back from warranty repair in Ostralia this week (well actually it's a new one as the original got lost in transit)!

Removed the Baja decals since they were starting to turn yellow. Kinda like the clean white look.

I've got the EXP 2.0 with the rekluse slave, I love it. I still use the clutch lever and forget that the rekluse clutch is even there. Then when things get technical and tricky, I leave the clutch alone, pick the gear and ride, no feathering needed. The best way I can.explain its effect is that it engages the clutch automatically to prevent a stall, the same as you would do manually

Both, I probably do 75% of my mileage on the bitumen. I still use the clutch lever and don't force the rekluse to do its job all the time.

Some people will tell you that it's no good for slow technical downhill riding as you will lose engine braking, I haven't found that to be true. As the rekluse is activated above a certain rev range (+/- 1600 RPM), you'd have to be in either the wrong gear which is your own fault not the rekluse, or going almost walking speed so the rekluse helps prevent you stalling.

My honest opinion, get it :freaky
