Didn't see this thread until now, but just posted these in the "bike you want today" thread. If a fool and his money are easily parted, I'd be a fool for this thing....if I had any money. Which probably means I've been a fool before. :lol3

I like the custom. Black please.

    Sweet.

I have never liked the Guzzi cruisers but I have to say that THIS is a great looking bike. Kudos to Guzzi for taking it up a notch.

Find the thread with the crashed Stelvio the owner had dragged up a ravine by ATVs upside down and then rode home. I believe my next ride will be a Guzzi.

I'd hate to see the price on it...

Given the pricing of their other bikes I can't imagine that it will be off the wall. :dunno

Do you expect it to be priced higher than the mid-teens?

I would expect the full monte will go for $19,995.

You know, I thought the exact same, if not higher. But there are a couple of pics on the Guzzi boards of the bike out-and-about prior to the press event with a rider on board. Looks maybe 8/10ths the size of what the US-market baggers are. Not a bad thing at all in my eyes....but I'm not the US bagger market.

Couple that with tough sales on new bikes at US Guzzi dealers (I've talked to a bunch, as I'm in the market for a lightly used Griso at the moment), and now I'm wondering if the 1400 won't be a bit cheaper than first thought...

A dealer in Ohio is advertising a new Griso SE (the green one) on Cycletrader for $11,500. Used Guzzis are a relative song. Price one of the '08 Norges sometime....For a Norge of that vintage with full luggage and top case with under 5000 miles, you'd better be prepared to buy if you had a $5500 bill in your pocket and offered it...tough, tough market.

By "will go", do you mean MSRP, or what all the overpriced leftovers sell for at the end of the model year?

Well, specs don't lie. And this guy may be 7 feet tall. But it sure doesn't look to have the 'presence' of, say, a Street Glide or a Cross Roads....

I almost added "and will sell for 2/3rds that price in 6 months". :lol3

I think MSRP will be around $19,000.

I don't think you are going to see many more Guzzi 'leftover deals' anymore. Guzzi isn't dumping bikes to market like in '07 and sometimes you have to order bikes just to get one.

I would hope you could score the fully bagged touring model for under $20k. You can score a fully decked Stelvio NTX for under $16k MSRP and Griso SE for under $12k.

I'll save judgement on "presence' until I see a pic of those bikes side-by-side.

If they price the Cal 14 more than the Road King in the USA market, they're nuts...

It needs to be way less than an equivalent RK, else folks won't buy.

Oh, and because MG USA is probably reading this thread: "bring some demo bikes to Daytona Bike Week!" :deal

Triumph stopped their demo fleet a few years ago. Too bad, as I'd love to have test ridden the bikes. I won't buy one without a test ride. :deal

And don't ask me to go to a dealer for one, either.

Yeah. The RK is a known quantity. Even if a newcomer is equal in every measurable way, buyers will want a financial reason to try the unknown.

The only smart thing I've seen with Guzzi pricing in my memory is the lowering of the Griso SE pricepoint to $12,490.

That price really stimulated sales of that model.

However, Guzzi has a history of overpricing its bikes in the USA market.

Good luck with that. I'm on record saying I love the looks of the 14, but Im afraid pics are the only place you'll see them 'side by side' in the real world....unless the Guzzi is priced much less.

    Which was my point.
