Why not...legendary Bikes. Must be plenty of owners out there...1983, 1986, 1988, Super Ten's, XTZ's......the pic is my new XTZ next to my brothers (CDG)
We love our Tenere's down here on the South Coast! There's five of 'em here, including my ex bike front right. One of the all time great bikes, no question
Mine is a fairly beaten up 96 model. Mostly lugs my sorry carcass to work and back but sometimes someone leaves the gate open and it gets out.. .
Here's mine, a 99 with 32 000k's Now with 2 in the family, my brother's (JCG) new beast. I was quite surprised when I checked my brothers bike to find that both his and mine have a build date of the 9/99 and both chassis and engine numbers were only 15 numbers apart! Great bike's I think. <IMG">
Hey JustAl fyi I freakin love your bike too mate. In that bottom pic it looks sweet as, I would love to pick up a nice one like that but over here in the west they are few and far between.
Good value Tenere chaps.. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/YAMAHA-TENERE-660cc_W0QQitemZ320209533375QQihZ011QQcategoryZ102679QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
They are far and few between just about anywhere! I was waiting on the S10 or a R100GSPD to pop up when I bought it. Almost ready to do a ride from Broome on a GSPD then I saw the S10 that was on the other side of the city instead and cheap too. It use to belong to Mr Smith.
remember when honda, suzuki, kawasaki and yamaha all made a big trailie that could do a 1000km day on the tar and then take you down the 4x4 road to a good campsite
All these shiny looking XTZ's are great but where are all the old school Tenere's on ADVrider? I thought there would of been quite a few kicking around considering the stories you hear about these things going for ever.
Sorry for the slightly late post in here, was waiting for my registration to go through. Anyways, here's my 86 XT600Z Tenere in road trim.Has the original wheels with the off road tyres on it for fun times. So far this thing has cost me an arm and a leg and nearly my sanity with a few annoying little problems. But once it fires up and you get that noise,it brings a smile to my face.
