Thanks everybody , I can't say enough times the fun I had meeting yall & riding. I hope to do it again soon. I'm still learning to be a better rider. I learned a lot from everybody. I learned how not to cross a creek "Troy"...lol. Also learned to always watch where I'm going "aka me running off the road". Oh and a side note. I repacked my muffler today using steel scrubbing pads instead of fiberglass packing. It did tone it down a lot. Guess I'll see how long it will last. Sorry to anybody that to ride behind me listening to my loud pipe.

We could tell that spot wasn't too deep, but what I wasn't sure about was how firm the bottom was underneath that water and goo. With my luck, I'd have gotten stuck half way through and spent an hour dragging the bike out.


Thanks for the riding compliments. I think my biggest issue is front end grip. The front end feels really flighty on those loose sections, especially the downhill turning ones. I think maybe my weight is too far back... need to lean further forward to put some weight on the front tire and make it stick.

In addition to whatever snorkel mods you come up with, I'd think about adding a drain to the airbox. Some sort of removable plug or hose/valve that would at least be somewhat accessible. Might also be able to do some sort of deflector in the airbox so it doesn't draw air straight from the bottom.

I found a bit of water in my airbox from that creek crossing as well.

I spent a lot of time following you... don't worry about the pipe, it's really not that loud. The 350 kit sure seems to make a big difference. Wish there was something like that available for my bike.

As for that running off the road thing... I still can't believe what I saw. :eek1 The fact that you saved it with so little drama was really impressive.

I've still only ridden tracks N of 68/80. Only thing I've ridden S is the asphalt & the Trace...

I learned how to add a custom map to my GPS via Google Earth and the Handout from the Turkey Bay office. Now we can find our way around the lake next time!
