I'm "here" too. Didnt you get yours in the first shipment? I would have thought you would be way past 1000km by now. I got mine on Tuesday and I'll be booking it in next week... back at Boltons. Guess I'll find out if its not included. Ive never owned a bike/car where the first service wasnt included :(

Edit: Fred just told me $350 and free services havnt existed for 25 years. :lol My 2002 busa definitely had a free service. Oh well... its just more money :)

My Spain's dealer just charged me for the oil in the first service, around 80€. He said the 15000's service it's about 230€ and 30000's 300€ with valves adjustment

Yeah I did but so far it's only commuted to work and back.. I haven't done a decent ride yet..

My bmw was included only because they stuffed around with the shipment, he chucked it in for free.. But it was $175 as opposed to $350-550

Did thy invite you on the customer ride? He was going to send details but none so far lol

I think you really have to negotiate it when buying the bike. The average would be around €200 in Europe. On the german forum, I have read anything between €150.- (Belgium/Germany) and €300 (Austria) where the material alone cost already €100.-. add to that labor and VAT.

I think any cost above €200 should concern extra work, not the 1st service itself. Unless something is already broken, its a simple oil change, hooking it to the computer to reset the service interval and professional check of things you should also check yourself.

KTM counts 71 min. for the 1K service, 101 min. for the 15K and 132 min. for the 30K.

Whew! I thought I was paying too much at $135 including oil and filter......I sort of figured it would have been nice if the dealer had done it for nothing...considering the purchase price... but I will be doing an oil change at 7500km and may do 15k myself...I kinda don't trust dealers....

Difficult to comment on service prices without knowing what the going rate per hour is for labour wherever you are.

But KTM give some useful indicators for the time taken to do servicing here http://www.ktm.com/uploads/tx_downloadsplugin/Servicezeiten_2013_EN.pdf

First service is less than 1.25 hours - plus oil/filter. So in the UK you should be looking well under £150 max.

just for those inmates in Oz KTM supplied me with a pre air filter free of charge....for those who haven't seen it, it consists of outer plastic base with a lightly oiled foam mid section that fits in above the existing air cleaner.....made in Australia by FWF and even comes with a stick on transfer you can stick on your neighbors car one night ...if you aint got it chase your dealer...

Blue Silver and anyone else who's interested. I have had bad vibration problems with the bike from almost riding it home. The dealer and I have gone through a process of elimination to try to overcome same, I fitted the expensive "progressive handlebar damping system", which cured nothing but the dealers overdraft.
I reported probs with vibration from taking it home, hoping running in would solve same. Reported same at first service in which they checked all the mounting bolts for engine. Recomended the handelbar damping system which I bought like a mug.
Took it back to get kit I ordered and asked them to check the front wheel ballance, as suggested by you guys, front wheel way out, double the weights added, their mechanic reconed it was also through the pegs and probably engine.
Still having problems with vibration; talked to the Dealer today who in turn has contacted KTM, and this is not the first report of same. They want to have my bike at the Dealers for a week to check things out, I told them I't should go back to KTM to check things out.
How do you contact KTM UK, the mother ship.

tell them to start with basics like tb synch, and the other minor adjustments, that shouldn't take a week for,or they are morons and have no clue
