    Hey ADVriders,

This ride report is a little late since we rode it in the middle of October 2005.

But, the pics are so good I just gotta post them!

Plus, I'm bored since I haven't ridden in over a month because of all the snow around here!

The dualsport ride started in Bend, Oregon and went to Waldo Lake and then back.

Most of the riding was 2 track forest service roads and singletrack trails.

Ready for the ride report? Here we go!...

So, there are twelve of us.. Of those twelve bikes, nine of them had something in common - can you guess what it is?

Nearly all of us had a GPS attached by some means to our rigs...

This was the start of the first powerline section that was perhaps the highlight of the day - some FUN railing!...

As we were leaving a firewood-cutting area, there was a throng of USFS folks, complete with guns (look close), who checked us for our OHV tags. Whatever..

Now we're off to Kwohl Butte which is the little hill right next to Mt Bachelor...

NOTE: This pic was actually taken a couple months earlier than this ride. Notice the snow that hasn't melted yet.

Monkey is getting a little tired...

About 15 miles before the end of the ride, Frunk ran out of petrol on the Beta. Bust out the rubber hose, it's time for a siphon...

And we're back just in time for the sun to go down.. All in all, an amazing day! It's Beer-30!

This summer we're planning on riding Route 3 of the Oregon Backcountry Discovery Route which starts at Big Lake and goes South along the Cascades. We'll probably go down to Diamond Lake and then back up North. 2-3 day trip.

You're welcome to join us. Just PING me with a PM and I'll get you on my email list!

Certainly looked like a big day out Dual---I liked the pics and am looking forward to my trip through there in May---

    Questions from an ignorant Scotsman---
Will there still be a lot of snow around early May?
What's an OHV Tag? I'm assuming it's sum sort of spark arrester on the muffler but maybe not. Wouldn't like to get on the wrong side of that lady with the gun :D
Will my standard issue '91 R100GS pass muster on that score or is there sumthinelse I've gotta do to be legal?

Providing I can get my registration details fixed I should be comin through as 'planned' hoping to make the coast around Cannon Beach---hope to meet up with sum of you guys on the way and maybe ride sum of your tracks.

Great looking ride. I, too, have that question about OHV tag. Is it just for residents or is there some out of state version?
